Imagine going to school and thinking, “Oh boy, what am I going to have for lunch today?” All you see is stuff you don’t like, so you don’t eat anything. Then your stomach starts to growl. What would you do and how would you explain it to your parents after school? Some students just don’t eat anything because they don’t like it. Others say that they “aren’t hungry,” but you never know. Schools should just make the lunch healthier and taste better. Even though school lunch offers food to those who may not have much at home, school lunches should be healthier to provide the proper nutrition for students because then the students can stay healthier which prevents illness and obesity.

Most people struggle with obesity, but schools just make it a whole lot worse. Kids come home and their stomach starts to hurt, and after a week they gain a pound or two. (Infobase) A lot of parents look at their kids and get disappointed because they don’t know how they’ve gained so much weight, until they finally think of what had caused it. School. Just think of being that unhealthy person, and to get obese in about one month, that is not so great and is very unhealthy. Parents take the time to get their children’s school lunch ready for them so they don’t have to go through that problem of being obese and getting made fun of. Most people think that if you buy the school lunch then everything will be okay for your kid, but if you think about it, all you’re doing is buying them complete fat. "Though giving your child lunch money may be easier than preparing a lunch, if you plan ahead and take the time to make lunch, you may be helping your child battle future weight issues." (Cavendish) I think that if you want to keep your child safe, then don’t give them money for food at school, don’t even give them money for the extras you can buy later on throughout the years of schooling. The best way to keep your kid safe is to not give them money, or even try to convince them not to eat school lunch and try not to get it in any way. Some parents think that if their child goes to school and eats the lunch there, then their child will be as healthy as can be since schools have to follow the rules.
