Do you like food, but school lunches are unhealthy, are you trying to get in shape well ask yourself would healthier food suit you better and set you on the right path to achieve healthiness at a young age. At some schools are serving junk food and unhealthy food at school which is causing childhood obesity. With new nutrition guidelines, children can eat healthier and become healthier .
For some children obesity is a upcoming problem in America, because “More than a third of U.S. children are overweight or obese—almost triple the rate in 1963—the newest Guidelines stresses the importance of consuming fewer calories and exercising more often.” (School Lunches: Will new federal nutrition guidelines for school lunches make children healthier?

“The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) helps provide inexpensive or free school lunch meals to students from low-income families.” (School Lunches: Will new federal nutrition guidelines for school lunches make children healthier? ) It’s helping the children during school to get a quality education and letting them eat healthy food instead of junk food. Pursuing this further “The Guidelines contains the government's nutrition advice for people two years of age and older on the benefits of good eating habits and how to reduce risks for diseases.” ("School Lunches: Will new federal nutrition guidelines for school lunches make children healthier?"). They are preventing the risk of disease with the guidelines so in the future kids can live healthier to have a low chance of diseases. Alternatively though “Other critics caution that students may not opt to buy the healthier school lunches, resulting in smaller school meal subsidies and smaller budgets for schools.” (School Lunches: Will new federal nutrition guidelines for school lunches make children healthier? ) This affects the school because if there is less money for school lunches which would be less food and children wouldn't be satisfied.
