School Practice as a Teacher
I am a teacher
During the first three weeks of our 2nd semester of the university, we were sent by our university professors for the big mission - to feel what it really meant to be a teacher. So my school practice held between 30.01-18.02. So let me tell you how did it passed what kind of feelings and admiration did it leave on me.
First of all I’d like to mention that a teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom in the students. He is a visible angel showing and helping you through your life whether you need it or not.
Knowing that, I stepped into the school №12 in order to explore myself as an effective teacher. I also knew that teaching is not only books and exercises, but also inspiring students to learn by themselves. Because a teacher who is attempting to teach without inspiring the student with a desire to learn is like hammering on cold iron.
On the 1st day of school practice, classes were divided between us. All my group mates were given 5th grades, but I had chosen 10th and 11th grades. The matter of my choice was that I wanted to use that wide range of possibilities and methods which wouldn`t be impossible with 5th grade`s pupils. In total I had to have 10 lessons during that practice.
My first three lessons passed on Saturday. Actually in that school there weren`t any computerized (tape, computer, active board) English classes, which is very important nowadays so it would be boring without them. The next thing I had to do was to find the class with all that stuff. Finally, I achieved it and the rest of the lessons I was teaching students in multimedia class.
What about my preparations? The day before the classes I made a lesson plan according to the documentation. Then I started collecting materials such as a Slide show, PPPs, Audio materials, Short videos, Song etc. Also I prepared games and visual aids according to the theme. When all of that were ready I practiced imaginatively. Also I didn`t forget to take some candies to the most active students in order to motivate them for further studies.
During the lessons I tried to use some new methods not that ancient types. For instance to explain Past simple I came into the class with one hand in a bandage and told my story about what happened to me the day before, then listened students about their unlucky days in past tense. It was warming – up technique. The next thing I did was telling of two different stories. First one was sad second one was funny, using active board. Both of them had a moral which I`ve explained at the end. While explaining the grammar by active board we had moments where some students were in the role of a teacher and me in the role of a student. To demonstrate the real life usage I showed short cartoon videos on a particular grammar topic. And the last thing to did, I checked in some way if students understood the theme. Sometimes I did it with the help of the song where I divided students into the groups and tell them to change the forms of verbs or asked students to make short dialogs and demonstrate them. For the active part or winners usually I gave some gifts like candies etc.
Even it was hard to motivate students to learn and explain the role of teachers` job in person’s life, by the end of our school practice I understood so much. I understood that in teaching maybe you cannot see the fruit of a day`s work. It is invisible and remains so, maybe for twenty years… or maybe even more, until person just ripens and understands teachers` role. So personally, I believe that a teacher must prepare for lesson… but only one-fourth and the other tree-fourth is theater… improvisation, acting, playing and joking! And I perfectly know that writer William Arthur Ward said that the mediocre teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the superior teacher demonstrates and the great teacher inspires.
To sum up my idea, I want to finish my essay with the statement “Discover Wildlife: Be a Teacher!”

Ask a student what they think of teachers, and they will all respond with some despondent remark of the inadequacies of their mentors. In this sense, teachers are truly the most underappreciated of all professions. To teach is to guide, and to guide is to touch a life in such an impactful way that that life will never be the same again. A teacher nurtures and cares for a soul in the hopes that one day it will grow into an exemplar of the human spirit, in both intellect and character. In this sense, to lack a teacher is the greatest of all deprivations.…

Learning however, won’t take place just because one wishes it; the opportunity for learning must be created by the teacher. This happens when the teacher is knowledgeable and proficient in the subject they teach, when they have the desire to pass on information and skills sets to others, and when they gain satisfaction from helping others achieve educational goals. Only then, will they be able to serve the needs of the learners by “teaching in a way that…

My overall clinical experience was an amazing opportunity! I learned so many helpful things over the past few months at my placement that I will be sure to take with me throughout my future nursing career. During my experience, I was able to see a writer's workshop first hand, as well as many other subject lessons. I always thought it would be hard to implement writing into many subject areas, but my teacher showed me that it was possible. The class that I was with was a little troublesome, but they got the job done when it came down to it. My teacher displayed wonderful classroom management, which is another thing that I worry about as a perspective teacher. She was able to keep the students engaged in the lessons and keep them on task. A few of the students had minor behavior problems, but it was nothing that she could not handle. My teacher was an organized mess, which is almost identical to me! It was a great experience to be placed with a teacher that was so much like me when it came to organization.…

Overall I had fun in the class learning and teaching the class. When I tried to teach the class one day I thought it would be fun and easy, but it was not easy or fun. I had a hard time trying to get the class to listen to me. Then I realized how the teacher felt when the class does not listen. But in the end I had fun getting them to listen by making them doing something they didn’t like doing. You could also have fun by playing with them in whatever sport they are playing.…

Not only but also do I derive from my tutors´ feedback that a further strength of mine can be spotted in lesson planning. Although I need to express my aims more succinctly and clearly the lesson plans are sound, clear and thorough. To plan a lesson is not always easy, because it can never be foreseen what will happen during the class. So it is important to make sure not to be caught in the act with a lack of knowledge or information to present the students or at least not to let the students realize.…

The major accomplishment for this week was dealing with multiple students' situations comparing with the first three weeks. I felt that in most of the cases I was able to provide the more support and also building rapport and establishing trust. Also, another good experience was to learn about kids with Turrets. We heard from a teacher that she has been having difficulties with a student with Turrets, who also has ADHD and other difficulties. The rest of the students in her class were feeling that this particular student was having preferential treatment. The counselor contacted the student's parents to share that we were planning to have a class meting to educate students about Turrets and about her son's situation. His mother understood…

During this Experiencia Laboral I have had a big number of positive experiences, therefore, it is hard for me to pick only one of them. Nevertheless, the one following summarises most of the my positive experiences. “Today Pablo (the teacher) told the students as a joke that we would not keep attending to the school so they had to say goodbye to us. It surprises me that all the students (from 4th and 5th grade) started shouting out that they want us to stay with them because we were been the best teachers they have had”.
