Therefore, The S.S was a security squad lead by Heinrich Himmler, in Nazi,Germany that protected Adolf Hitler from harm. They were in charge of “ eliminating soviet political commissioners, mental patients, and Gypsies “ ( SSterrorintheeast:theEinsatzgruppenontrial ). This explains why they were called a “ Paramilitary Group “ ( GestapoNaziPolice ). For example they attacked Sane Asylums
just so they could kill the people inside. So the S.S was a group that overall protected and killed at the same time.
However, the Gestapo was everywhere and heard everything. The Gestapo heard and saw anything that happened in Nazi,Germany “ with an officer on every street corner and a tap on every phone “ ( Is the Gestapo Everywhere? The Origins of the Modern Perception of the Secret Police of the Third Reich 2). This means that no one in Nazi,Germany could have a private conversation with each other because everywhere you looked there was a Gestapo officer. As an example the Gestapo was also responsible for finding Jews for concentration camps and killing forces that did not agree with what the Nazis did. Overall, the Gestapo was a powerful, killing machine.
Although the S.S and Gestapo were different they have their similarities. One of which was their leader Heinrich Himmler, “ Himmler joined the Nazi Party in the 1920s,” ( Prof.J.Popkin ). This means that he was a patron to the Nazi party. For instance, Himmler worked with other police organizations in Nazi,Germany. Overall, the S.S and Gestapo had one large similarity between each other.
In conclusion, the S.S and the Gestapo were very important to Nazi,Germany. The S.S and Gestapo had many differences but, they had one large similarity. In the end, they were basically the same group.
