If different age groups are placed in a room for several minutes, then the older they are the more time they will think has passed by because time perception is affected by age.
Purpose
The purpose of this project is to find out if time perception changes with age.
Materials
● 3 people ( 1 8 yr. old, 1 33 yr. old, 1 57 yr.old) ● empty room
● stop watch
Procedure
Gather a group of subjects, ages 8 to 57.
Simply tell the people you are conducting an experiment about the differences in time perception between children of different ages and adults, and tell them when and where to show up. When the participants show up, take them one at a time into a room with no distractions and no clock. Keep them there for 5 minutes. After five minutes, enter the room and ask how much time has passed.
Results
The youngest of the group guessed that the most amount of time had passed while the two older had more accurate guesses as to much time they believed had passed.
Conclusion
As youMy hypothesis was correct, the older you are the more you time you believe has passed.
