Scientific racism is termed as the use of a set of certain beliefs, theories, or ways of thinking in order to justify or classify , individuals who show different characteristics or traits into separate races. From the beginning of European expansion and colonization, some questions had started to be raised about whether the indigenous people that were being discovered in the New World were actually human or not .

He started to group humans with higher primates and divided them into four different groups Americanus, Asiaticus, Europeaeus, Africanus. In these categories he came up with species which he said dated from creation and basically remained the same since the beginning of time. He thought that varieties of these different species were caused by external factors such as climate, temperature, and geographic features. Science does not always want to discover and tell the truth about their fields of study because in doing so they can upset the balance or certain beliefs that are held by a minority of society. Homosexuals want to use the case of Plessy vs Ferguson the 1896 US Supreme Court ruling that insisted that black and white races were separate but equal. This ruling was the first time that black people were finally given the acknowledgement by society that they are on equal ground and that all men are created equal even though they have different physical characteristics. This same argument is also the grounds on which homosexuals try to justify that they too have differences but are still created equal in society.
