Scotch Pines Golf Course is located in Payette, Idaho. The course first opened in 1961 as only a 9-hole course and was designed by William Graham. In 1988, Robert Scott Masingill designed the back nine. Mr. Masingill continues to be an active member of the Scotch Pines community and currently serves on its board of directors.
The course is open seven days a weeks, tee times starting as early as 7:00 am. It has 6,487 yards of grass for you to golf in with a 72 par. Of the 23,925,000 golfer's worldwide, only 22.8% of them are women of the ages 18 and older (Berkley). As of 2012, there were 25 golf courses in the United States which only allowed men to be members (Channel Signal). Scotch Pines welcomes all members, but currently does little to recruit members, and even less to appeal to potential female members. It is an opportunity for women to socialize with their friends and play golf. Women who are accomplished golfers can participate, but so can women who are looking to improve their golf game with other beginners. The weekly event could consist of group lessons with the golf professional, a few holes of golf, and then drinks and appetizers with the other women who participated. Nine holes of the golf course would be dedicated to the event so the women could play in groups of five or six, to encourage mingling with other players. The goal of the evening is not to play nine or 18 holes, but socialization and building of friendships. After the women finish golfing, they can adjourn to the clubhouse for food and drink specials, games, and
