There are three standards views from which an ankle can be X-Rayed. First, the Anterior-Posterior (AP) view is a straight on view, set at an angle in which the ankle joint can be viewed without being blocked by the fibula, as show in the image below. In a healthy ankle, this view shows an evenly spaced joint.…

When the legs are opened without force and turnout is supported with the deep rotators, iliopsoas, and abdominals, one should be able to trace a line directly from the hip, through the center of the knee, and to a point between the second and third toe of the foot. A neutral or properly aligned pelvis is a good indicator as well because when the turnout is forced, generally the pelvis will tilt, creating a swayed back.…

In politics, individuals all hold their own political motivations which inspire their actions but however we can say that control and the thirst of power is the definite underlying goal. The primitive nature of this power can greatly affect not only individuals within Government but the general society as they exercise their democratic rights. This is derived from the repercussions of conflicting perspectives occurring within government which ultimately nurtures the growth of political stature for members and parties by juxtaposing one’s political agenda with another. This is especially seen in the use of the media as a platform for the creation of ‘truth’ within Barry Levinson’s Wag The Dog of which the ‘spin doctors’ implement in order…
In the article “The Last Meow”, written by Burkhard Bilger and published in the New Yorker, Bilger describes the current life of owning a pet and just how many expenses go into these animals. Bilger believes the care for pets nowadays is too extreme and that people spend way too much money to perform outrageous surgeries along with other beneficial practices just to save their pets. I agree with him to an extent. Although I do believe some smaller practices are necessary to help pets, like treatments when they get injured or have a cold, most treatments now are superfluous and help the owner’s emotions more than the owner or the pets well-beings.…

Novels are mainly based around the author’s ideas, but numerous people don’t comprehend that these ideas include the point of view and perception of the story. For instance, the novel A Dog’s Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron, contains an imaginative storyline; however, what creates a truly unique effect is that the novel is narrated by a dog and his journey through different lives. Because the novel is told by an animal, it appears as if the novel is just an entertaining story, but the depth of the novel is actually astounding. One doesn’t anticipate learning important lessons from a dog, yet the lessons taught in the novel are refreshingly taught from a new perspective that they become more insightful. For starters, Toby/Bailey/Ellie/Buddy is a…
This review will focus on scoliosis and treatments pertaining to the disorder along with associating diseases. Scoliosis is commonly explained as a curvature of the spine. While there are many forms of scoliosis there are many more related disorders that are caused from and are associated with scoliosis. Three types are explained in Aebis article of The adult scoliosis. Type 1 is primary degenerative scoliosis that deals with mostly disc or facet joint arthritis. Type 2 is Idiopathic adolescent scoliosis of the thoracic and/or lumbar spine in which correction and fusions could be needed. Type 3 is Secondary adult curves. This is divided in to types A and B. A, being neuromuscular and congenital scoliosis, or asymmetrical anomalies at lumbosacral junction. B is involves metabolic bone diseases such as osteoporosis and asymmetric arthritic disease along with vertebral fractures (Aebi, 2005). The treatment of lumbar scoliosis in adolescents has new and developing methods. Maurice describes his study of anterior instrumentation in young adults compared to other studies of posterior instrumentation (Maurice, 2013). Mullin describes the correlated disc degeneration shown in MRIs and correlated pain and disability. His studies are focused on spinal cord…
