Subject : Tuition and Education Reimbursement
Purpose
EBG encourages eligible employees to further their self-development and to stay on the leading edge of knowledge in their areas of responsibility by reimbursing educational expenses for business related degrees, courses, or programs from approved, accredited educational institutions. This reimbursement program will encourage employees to take course or courses based on the business need and will help them keep up scientific developments related to their work.
Who does this apply to?
This Policy applies to all full-time, regular employees of EBG with a minimum of six (6) months of continuous, full-time service. All requests for course approvals and reimbursement requests received after January 2, 2014 will be processed in accordance with the terms and provisions of this policy.
Requirements
The course or degree requested must be:
1. Offered by an educational provider that maintains an institutional accreditation recognized by the Department of Education.
2. Manager or Supervisor approval is required. However, Supervisor will evaluate employees based on business objectives accordingly recommend that employees take one or more of these courses. In addition, employees can choose to take a course or courses without their supervisor’s recommendation but have to pick the course or courses which can support the company in achieving its business objectives.
3. Employees will be able to take off a half day, with pay, on the days their courses meet, however homework and studying hours must be done on employee’s own time.
4. To receive reimbursement, employee’s grade report must indicate grade equivalent to C or above.
