While we were at Sea World, we visited with dolphins, whales, sharks and even non-aquatic animals such as flamingos. At dolphin cove, we bought some sardines to feed the dolphins. Basically, we dangled the food over the pool and the dolphins would rise to the surface with their mouths open. We pet the dolphin, then fed it the fish. I was a little scared at first due to the fact that the only live animals I had touched were not aquatic, but I warmed up quickly. I made sure to have anything and everything that had a dolphin on it. Whether it was a shirt, necklace, or ring, I begged my mother, father, or grandparent for it. I do not have much of the merchandise now because I grew out of the shirts and my interests had changed once I entered junior high, but I still keep a pair of earrings, a necklace and my ring as reminders of my love for marine life and my childhood. The dolphin continues to be my spirit animal as time passes. It is a symbol that represents intelligence, playfulness, protection, resurrection, strength, and cooperation. A dolphin’s playfulness reminds me that life is not supposed to be perfect, it is full of twists and turns, and that I should learn to have fun even in my worst times, which also demonstrates strength in difficulty.
