Sean "Diddy" Combs Entrepreneur Paper
Sean “Diddy” Combs

An American rapper, record producer, actor, and entrepreneur, Sean Combs (also known as Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs) is a talented and proficient individual who spends his life making music and being a philanthropist. Combs was born in Harlem, New York on November 4, 1969 where most of his hip-hop vibe originated from. He worked his way up the success ladder via his music, movies, food, clothing and other ventures. In 2013, Forbes magazine estimated Combs’ net worth at an astonishing $580 million, making him one of the richest figures in the hip-hop entertainment business alongside Beyonce, Jay Z, and many others.
Combs attended Howard University where he majored in business administration. He later dropped out of college to pursue an internship at Uptown Records, which led him to a talent director position. After working with the company for quite some time, Diddy was promoted up to vice-president of Uptown Records thanks to many key artists he promoted. However, Combs left the company shortly after in the 1990s.
In 1993, Combs created his own production company, Bad Boy Entertainment, where many big-name rap, hip-hop, and R&B recording artists, such as Mary J. Blige and The Notorious B.I.G., worked. By 1997, Bad Boy Entertainment had sold nearly $100 million in recordings and made a multimillion-dollar deal with Arista Records for management of the label.
His success continued as he launched many albums that eventually reached platinum status. After releasing his second album, Forever, in 1999, Combs launched his, now popular, clothing line, Sean John. Sean John still stands today as a thriving and unique clothing line to consumers. In 2008, Combs, also, acquired the Enyce clothing line from Liz Claiborne for $20 million. In addition, Diddy added a men’s cologne called “I Am King” to the Sean John branding. His signature design skills, also, landed him in various opportunities to design and advertise items such as the Dallas Mavericks

West coast rapper rivalries. Biggie "represented" the east coast and was with Sean "Puffy" Combs record company, Bad Boy Records. Biggie's main rival was 2Pac Shakur who was from the West coast and was signed with Sug Knight's Death Row Records. Both rappers sang and "predicted" their murders. It is believed that Biggie was killed in retaliation to 2Pac's death. It is believed that Biggie was responsible for 2Pac's murder because they were constantly competing through the media. 2Pac claimed that he had slept with Biggie's wife at the time, Faith Evans, who dined this. Weather or not it is true this is a prime example of their competition. In 1994 2Pac was outside a record studio, which Biggie was currently inside. 2Pac was attacked and blamed Biggie.
