Through my visits at the daycare “Jugando se Aprende,” children have the opportunity to play in different areas inside of the room, there are seven areas around the classroom, in which, each day, children choose one area to play, at each area there should be four children. Based on my observation, children who choose to play at the dramatic area, play real cases around their world. For example, I saw two girls that were playing pretending to be their moms, also they acted like their moms, at the same time, I hear that one of the girls told to the other one that she will prepare a “licuado” that is a smoothie that is made with real fruit, when the girl asked to the other girl that she will do a “licuado” for her, she pretended to prepare it…

I chose to attend this particular event because I am actually familiar with Wood Harris and his work and was excited to see him in person. Although I had never seen The Wire, I was well aware of the show’s success and portrayal of African-American men. The event was held in the library auditorium and it was a success. Many people attended the event and several audience members interacted with the panel. Miss CSU introduced herself and then went on to introducing the panel of guests which were cheered. A clip of the The Wire’s season 3 finale was presented as Wood Harris and the panel adjusted to the audience. When Wood Harris was asked a question, he answered and stated ,” People don’t want to see a person achieve greatness, there has to already…

I observed children at the Sandusky Mall play area. There were a lot children between the ages of two and three years old. Most children have probably never met each other before, but that didn’t stop them from interacting. Some children were able to communicate verbally, others used touch and eye contact. The children who were able to communicate verbally made up stories and really used their imagination while playing. The children who used touch and eye contact would run around and look at each other a lot for reassurance. Sometimes it seemed like they were reading…

As a child, one can just imagine the endless possibilities that life can hold for them. Not all children have the luck to make it to their adult or even teenage years. One of the videos to best show why, is Martina McBride’s video titled “Concrete Angel” which was first released in 2009. According to the video, there are kids who suffer abuse and most of them people are aware of it, but don’t know anything about it. Children, especially are innocent and don’t know what is it that is going around them so they of course don’t report it. Most people also can see the signs, but they decide to keep quiet for reasons unknown. I personally as a mother, if I were to see something like this of course I would report it to the proper authorities. Maybe,…

The child I observed was male and approximately one and a half years old. This was a natural observation; the place was at my home in the bedroom of my apt. I was the only person in the room. To my knowledge and what I have observed was Martrell. The time of observation was at 2:00 until 3:00pm. Martrell was playing with his toys by himself when the observation began. A few minutes later Martrell went to a shelf and pulled down everything on the shelf. As he was pulling them off the shelf he then looked at me and smiled, after the smile he decided to pick them up off the floor and put them back. I asked Martrell if he wanted to play with his toy doggy. This toy doggy teaches him his shapes, ABCs, 123s, and how to sing. He went into the front room area, and grabbed the doggy and jumped on top of it to ride it around and then he started to play with the doggy. Martrell played with the doggy without any complaints. Then I asked him if he want to eat, and he repeated back to me( eat, eat,) which means yes he wants something to eat.…

It was 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I was observing the children playing in the a small playground in the southern campus. The unexpected sunshine makes everything beatiful today. There are lots of equipments here for children to entertain, such as swing, slide, see saw, spring rider, which remind me my childhood, too. Since today is Thursday, the number of children is less than usual. However, at least I had some children to observe. I focused on the twins, Steve and Bela, who hanging around together in the playground. They are around 3-4 years old.
