other students around them. Plus, the cost of seat belts which is roughly $50 without installation, nut, or bolts, then two per seat, and at least twenty-two plus seats with, at least for at least 16 buses at West Franklin school district which will add up to a ton of money. An example of why not to have seat belts on buses is because of electrical fires that was all over the news and there was no students on the bus, luckily but the driver was and he is ok but he has some terrible burns and some shock to the system. (Picture Below) Having seat belts on buses can be a harmful to have but having seat belts on buses can also help you support yourself when involved in a head-on or rear-end collision. Seat belts are required in cars, you won't get hurt as much as in a bus with seat belts when you have high backs and seat belts will just give you cuts and bruises maybe some broken bones but not usually thrown out of a window.
In conclusion seat belts shouldn’t be required on buses due to crashes, fires, and how many people are on the bus that need to get off in emergencies and with lots of kids on the bus slows it down, which it would take even longer if the kids needed to unbuckle which some kids struggle with, so there should not be seat belts on buses.
