The Warsaw pact was a collective treaty mirroring NATO to form security alliances in Eastern Europe between the Soviet Union and the eastern bloc. It was created as a reaction to the entrance of the Federal Republic of Germany into NATO in 1954. This treaty was focused on helping developing countries and creating military ties at the same time. The actual purpose was more of an effort of the Soviet Union to keep their control over military forces in Eastern Europe. The pact itself was created to counterforce NATO but there was never confrontation between them, it was more of use in spreading ideology throughout the world.
