Programmatic composition is a composition which reflects a story, event, or series of event within its music. Usually program music is a term typically applied to any musical composition on the classical music tradition in which the piece is designed according to some preconceived narrative, or designed to evoke a specific idea and atmosphere. The instrument used was marimba. This solo act was performed by Taylor Poole. The performance started off slow, in some parts it intensified, but majority of the time it was very slow. The graduate student who performed the soprano was Kyriaki Loakeimidou and Jacob Guidi that performed the cello. Soprano is a type of classical female singing voice and has the highest range of all voice type. When Loakeimidou performed the soprano, it astonished me. Her facial expressions were kind of scary at first, but the cello complimented it. I felt the intensity in her performance. I have never seen something so unusual and amazing at the same time. At one point, it seemed like she was about to rip the stage apart, I saw immense pain on her face. However, when she finished her performance she gave a big smile. Her transition into a completely different character was mind-blowing. Her intense voices echoed in the auditorium, everyone was so into it. I feel as though the audience were caught off guard.
