I was curious about their choice of words when they said “purpose”. I believe they used this word out of irony to be interpreted. I had believed that it meant a person’s occupation; I do feel that word is vague to just mean occupation. However, a person’s purpose does not have to be beholden to his or her’s career and view things that their career allows them to see. Part of the meaning could be if a person looks at something with optimism or pessimistic eyes. If I write down the phrase “ you have an interesting sense of style,” the word “interesting” is without a positive or negative meaning. If looked at by two types of people they could either be the optimistic who would take it as compliment or the pessimistic who would take it as an insult.
