Selena Carrie Bez Biography
Selena Marie Gomez was born on July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas. Her mother and father are Mandy Teefey and Ricardo Gomez. Her mother is of part Italian ancestry, and her father is of Mexican descent. She was named after Tejano singer Selena, who died in 1995. She was an only child and got her high school diploma by homeschooling. Her favorite sport is basketball and her favorite subject in school was science. Selena's mom was an actress in the theatre which got her interested in acting. She got her first real acting job on the kids show Barney & Friends at the age of 7. She played in movies and did some shows for a couple of episodes until the age of 12. She then started working for the Disney Channel and her first show was on Suite Life
