1. Self-assessment
1.1 Morality I am always a law-abiding person. Maybe I’m afraid of punishment by law; maybe I don’t like to do anything wicked to others; maybe I have never done anything illegal. In my eyes, law is the lowest boundary for a person. Therefore, I prefer to ask myself the thing that I’m doing whether it will encroach on others’ rights. I insist that thinking from others’ view is of great importance. We should keep kind-hearted in our daily life. All in all, I believe I won’t cross the boundary of the ethic. That’s my Morality.

1.2 Values In the classification made by Clare W. Graves, I belong to sixth category called “Social Center”. I’d like to put the conceptual things into the real world, when I identify the value of special things. Without comparison, it is hard for us to draw a conclusion, because we have no evidence and reference. In addition, I usually pay more attention to the quantitative factors, because figures hardly cheat our eyes. However, sometimes, qualitative factors also absorb my attention. In some cases, I like to identify the value of substance through observation from different aspect to the same thing. In my opinion, the factor in mental is the most significant. To illustrate, we assume you will buy a car. In this situation, you must consider what extent of enjoyment

The legislation of ethics is not just a modern occurrence, but the feeling that an individual can do so is debatable. Just because an individual keeps the letter of the law, does not necessarily make him or her ethical. Graham (1995) argues that ethical decisions come not from those in authority (of which is the law), but are “independently arrived at principled beliefs that are used creatively in the analysis and resolution of moral dilemmas” (p. 47).…

Frank trippetts in his passage “ A red light for scofflaws: argues that even though the laws are not very big breaking the law is breaking the law. He states that “laws are nonetheless designed to protect and nourish the society.” He claims that americans are used to thinking that little things are violent crimes. The author is ethical because he gives many examples as to why his argument is correct. Kids and adults everyday are breaking more and more laws and they need to be stopped.…

One who breaks and unjust law must do so openly, lovingly, and with a willingness to accept the penalty. I submit that an individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for law. According to my results, I tend to base my ethical perspective in what is good to be rather than what is good to do. This is correct; I strongly believe that ethics focus in ways to achieve moral excellence. I know that our actions are the reflection of our character, but at the same time I believe that we must look beyond the actions to determine the individual’s character. Our actions can be motivated or influenced by different circumstances: the desire to belong and be accepted in a group, in order to obtain a benefit, in order to gain a reputation and our actions can be manipulated. However, the actions can’t make us an ethical person if we don’t believe in honor, justice and a sound moral character. Ethics relies in the individual’s ability to make sound moral judgments. Is not just about choosing right from wrong according to a norm, but to be able to make difficult choices aid by a good character conformed to wisdom and integrity.…

I often wondered how people succeeded in balancing their personal lives and maintaining a career at the same time. “One has to take a backseat,” I thought. Through the years, I have come to realize that it is not necessarily the case. When I came here to this country to work, I got to meet many people who I have come to admire in their pursuit and success in living a well-balanced family and professional life. Then I said to myself, “It is not easy but very possible.”…

It is my belief that for humanity to prevail, it is important for individuals to focus on the interest of other people, rather than solely focusing on personal interests (Einstein, 2006). This is the case since ensuring that the welfare of the other parties is enhanced will help to realize of a better living environment, thereby enabling the environment around us to be suitable for every person’s survival. Such aspects can be done by ensuring that one conducts his/her activities as per the expectations of the community to which they belong. The important aspect is that they should just align their deeds with the ethical standards of a given group, which should in turn be morally…

The ethical parameters that determine my actions, thoughts and kind of life I live were set out for me from birth and I am glad I am able to feel when I am doing something right and when something wrong shouldn’t be done. Not letting the way other people act or allowing what they think is right or wrong determine the way I react to a situation is my number one way of setting my parameters. If I feel I should or shouldn’t feel, do or say a certain thing – I won’t.…
