doing it, self-care is definitely essential. Many Christians misunderstand self-care to mean "self-ish." The controversies between Christians doesn't seems like a dilemma to me, because I strong believe that people has to be healthy in order to help the others.
If the person is sick and not being able to do anything, how can people save and help the others? In my perspective as becoming a Christian pharmacist, it is a huge role for Christian pharmacists to emphasize an appropriate selection of the lifestyle adjustment for patients. Counseling the patient with the method of SCHOLAR-MAC is the most important first step with facing the patients. For example, pharmacist should be able highlight Over-The-Counter medication to patients, and further provides an opportunity to suggest the most appropriate way to cure, and prevent diseases. My stance towards to the self-care as pharmacists that it is my duty to help the others. Again, it s more important to care myself before coming into the practice, so that I am able to care the others. I strongly believe pharmacists play an important role in guiding patient's self-care behaviors, because self-care involves a variety of actions that patients take to manage their health. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." This Bible verse reinforces that we are responsible to take good care and treat ourselves with ultimate value. In the end, I strongly believe that Christian pharmacist in good faith takes a huge role to help the patients on self-care topics carefully with love of
Christ.
