SELF CONCEPT PAPER
First, I have to talk about my strengths. I see myself as a very oriented person who is always thriving for the best. According to Eleanor Roosevelt, “You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face…Do the thing you think you cannot do” ("Just quotes "). I am always trying to do the best that I can to achieve my goals no matter how hard they seem to be sometimes. I am a hard worker, and I believe that I will be more likely to accomplish my goals if I keep doing the best that I can. I do not let things affect me that easily and I make sure that I am always focused both at school, and at work. Another one of my strengths is listening to people’s advice. I especially love to listen to my parents’ critics because I believe that they are better advisors compared to other people. I would add that I kind of prefer my mother’s advices because as a woman, she easily understands anything I am going through in life. I am also very strong mentally and psychologically. Moreover, I am very generous because I really like to help other people in need. I am always willing to give some money to homeless people, and I participated to a few community services back in my home country of Ivory Coast.
Concerning my weaknesses, I can be influenced by people in a bad way. A personal life experience is the fact that I was once affected by peer pressure. I was at a house party with a few friends, and I had a few more drinks than usual because my friends encouraged me in this bad behavior. I also used to have some trouble with procrastinating. I am not the most organized person in the world because it is sometimes hard for me to keep track of deadlines. I have been working on it, and I am getting better at managing my time efficiently. Also, I get very nervous when speaking in front of groups. I haven't had a lot of experience with this over the past several years
