Describe in detail how YOU contributed to the team/ team goals and overall outcome:
The first thing that I did to help out the team was do the 2-D model for the elevator pitch. I got that done first thing Monday so my other teammate can continue and start on the 3-D model, so she can have an idea as to what the outcome layout of the inflatable will be. Next, I helped Jessica calculate the budget and measurements of the area where our inflatable will be for final critique day and how much plastic we will need to buy for the project. I listened thoughtfully and was being enthusiastic in the support of my team’s ideas if warranted. I took the initiative to share my own ideas and do so respectfully.

working on a collaborative team? What kind of team member were YOU? What are YOUR strengths/weaknesses as a team member? Communication is the key to success for this project. My team and I always talked to each other and communicated for ideas for the utopia and solutions to problems within the project. I always helped out when needed and if one of my teammates are in a struggle, I helped them out no matter what. I won’t say that I was the leader, nor a follower in the team, but I was more like a beta of the pack. I helped give suggestions on how to conquer an issue in the group and pointed out who should do what in the group. If we came down to a disagreement about the project, I would step up and talk to everyone about how this disagreement should not stand in our way of this project. I would say my weakness as a team member was communication at the beginning of the project: where we were doing the elevator pitch. I thought that the team wanted to do the fan and door on the same side of the model, but with a good explanation from my teammates, we changed it to the door on the other side. I was just not aware of the situation. But, as time went on, my weakness became my strongest in both me and the team. We got things done without any loss of communication and dedication in the project.
Team Evaluation:
Describe in detail how your team functioned. Specifically, how each member dealt with conflict, challenges and communication.
Jessica was mainly the overall leader of the project.
She helped make sure that everyone was able to meet and exceed goals and objectives of the project. She created meeting times and work days so everyone can make it and do their part of the project. Sara and I helped with feedback and talked with to see what days were good for everyone in the group. We worked together as a team and we identified the strengths and weaknesses of each team member and inspired them to do their best work in an effective manner. Lexi was indeed our weakest of the group, consider we had to tell her what to do, rather than taking the initiative to do it. Same goes with Savannah, but she was always negative about ideas and concerns of the project. Cassandra went with the flow about everything and was in the same boat as Jessica, Sara, and I …show more content…
were.
Describe how the overall workload was divided. Did some members do MORE work? Rank EACH member based on work produced and explain ranking.
Mostly all the work was split and divided amongst ourselves, but there were people in the group that did more than the other team members. Jessica, Sara, and I were those people. All 3 of us went to every meeting and used our time wisely to get things done. Lexi, Savannah, and Cassandra did not put in their time as they should’ve into the group. If I had to rank everyone in the group from 1-10, with 10 being the highest/hard working, I would give Jessica, Sara, and I 10s for the group, 7 for Cassandra, 3 for Savannah, and 2 for Lexi. Lexi was always there, but did not do anything unless being told what to do for the progression of the inflatable. Savannah was in the same boat as Lexi except she had to miss out most of the meetings for personal reasons. Cassandra had a legit reason to miss out that one weekend for the tournament, but it caused us to slow down on the inflatable. But when she came back, she want to help us as much as she an, so she got right back to work and went straight unto helping us progress on the utopia.
Describe how your team interacted and engaged the public. How did ALL members participate? Explain.
This is where Savannah, Lexi, and Cassandra stepped up in the group. Savannah gave out the spiel of the critique and told us what to talk about and how to address it. During the time of visitors coming inside, she gave everyone a brief description about what is an inflatatopia and what our utopia was. Mainly, the ones that didn’t have the best working produce of the inflatable were taking control of the public speaking for the team. Jessica, Sara, and I stepped in and helped them out, but in majority of the time, they had it all under control. Savannah was the greeter and information guide for the outside of the inflatatopia, while Lexi and Cassandra were the inside greeters and questionnaires for people to talk to when they explore inside our utopia. Jessica and Sara were maintenance during the time and I was the photographer about half the time, because Cassandra and I switched jobs halfway during the day of the event.
Describe the attitude of your team during both workdays and on the day of the event.
Was the team positive and flexible throughout the process?
Our attitude was always positive during the progress of the inflatatopia. We were never quiet on the workdays, because we all communicated and talked to each other about school, jobs, classes, etc., to keep us not as strangers but as a team, a family. We had a blast on the day of the event! Lot of students came to our inflatable and loved it! We all had positive attitudes and smiles all day to visitors that wanted to take a journey into our utopia.
Specific Individual Evaluation:
List each team member by name and briefly describe and evaluate their role in the group. This is your opportunity to praise and highlight strengths as well as make us aware of concerns and conflicts.
Jessica was the leader of the group. She got things done when they needed to be done. Sara and I were basically the betas of the group. If Jessica wasn’t there, Sara and I worked together to help and make progress on the utopia. Cassandra was the quiet, easy-going team member that would be help out when needed if a task needs an extra hand to
do.
