Self Faith---Driving Force of Life
SELF-FAITH – DRIVING FORCE OF LIFE

Madam Toastmaster, enlightened fellow members & distinguished guests :

Recently Times Magazine declared Mahatma Gandhi as the greatest leader in world history till now. Highlighting the importance of self-faith; in one of his speeches he thundered:

“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”

We are the children of God; the sharer of immortal bliss, holy and perfect beings. We see divinities in greedy and power hungry people. It is a sin to call them so. It is a standing libel on human nature. Come up O lions and shake off the delusion that you are sheep. You are not servant of matter; but matter is your servant.

Old timers said that he is an atheist; who does not believe in God. The new thinking says that he is an atheist; who does not believe in himself. If you have faith in more than 33 million Gods worshipped world over and still does not have faith on you; then there is no salvation for you.

I will share a beautiful humorous story with all of you to clarify this point.

A man and a parrot were traveling together in a plane. While talking to each other; man start copying the parrot. Due to lot of noise; both were thrown out of the plane. In open sky; parrot asked the man are you still enjoying.
The moral of the story is “We are born original, why to end a copy. “ For any individual the most powerful brand is himself.

To succeed, we must have tremendous perseverance and will power. I will drink the the ocean – says the persevering soul. At my will mountains will crumble up have that sort of energy. Work hard and we will reach the goal
Faith is life; weakness is death. Strength is felicity. Weakness is constant strain and misery.

Doing is very good; but that comes from thinking. Let positive, strong thoughts be in us from the very childhood. If there is one word bursting like a bombshell on the masses of ignorance it is fearlessness. What we want is muscles of iron and nerves of steel. Fill the brain with highest thoughts and ideals and out of that will come the great work like Mozart or Beethoven’s Symphony or Michel Jackson’s Thriller.

Look yourself from the state of an amoeba to the human being. Who made all that. Your own will. A pure and strong will is omnipotent; because it comes directly from God. In world history heights achieved and kept by all great men and women were not obtained by sudden flight. They had faith in themselves and toiled day and night upwards; while others were sleeping. Have self faith. Dial the divinity within. You can do anything.

Faith, in the religious sense, is the belief based upon our spiritual connections with God. Faith aids, stabilizes and nourishes us spiritually allowing our knowledge of his words to grow. Since there are so many different religious faiths, one must indulge in the one that is closer to home. Christianity is the religion that is dominant in the United States. Many men and women have graced this world with their inspirational leadership and never ending tenacity. But amongst these men and women, there is a more selected group that stands out from them all. Although each may be from a different time era, their attributes and determination remain fairly the same. Even through their diverse profession greatness and excellence never fails to shine from them. However, the very same intentions that those men and women long to accomplish reflect the type of person, good or bad, they seem to us. People like Adolf Hitler, Theodore Roosevelt, and Mahatma Ghandi all have influenced millions of people around the world: as mentioned before, good and bad.…

    1. According to Hauser what are the main challenges to the faith today? According to Hauser, “It is a question of conviction – do we really believe that only in the mystery of the Word made flesh does the mystery of man truly become clear (cf. Gaudium et Spes, 22)? Are we ready to commit our entire selves – intellect and will, mind and heart to God?” These are essential questions that stand at the foundation of any Catholic education. In a special way the study of theology reflects a Catholic university’s commitment to the faith of the Church and the truth of the human person. Theology is described by St. Anselm as “faith seeking understanding.” And since the content of the faith is Christ, theology is an examination of this truth, the one truth, the truth of Christ. But does this truth and commitment to this truth really guide Catholic higher education today in the multiple aspects of it life? Are these institutions of higher learning really committed to the truth of Christ and the mission of the Church? I believe Hauser is also saying that the theologians of today have been unable to meet the demands of both the teaching of the true faith AND answering the challenges of today’s society. Hauser continues, “It could be argued that the foundation for a solution to this tension has been laid by Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI, who in their writings defend and articulate the faith and its significance for modern life. Yet the academy, imbued with the skepticism of such authority rejects it as narrow and retreats to the insular world where they are king. Many argue that Catholic higher education can best serve the world by returning to her origin.” In effect, the Church seems stuck in the past as she tries to maintain her sense of self and purpose. Additionally, when one doesn’t get the answers one needs, in this world of rush and hurry, one tends to become uninterested and move on to where the answers seem to be, even if that…

Perseverance , patience and dedication leads to success, success does not mean reaching set goals but gaining something that is more beneficial. Perseverance is shown in “The Happiest Refugee” where the Anh and his family had all there sewing machines stolen this did not stop them they acted as soon as they needed to and I quote “there is now or too late” this shows that they are strong that they have the power to knock anything down even thought life put them to their knees. This is reflected by the movie “The Pursuit Of Happiness” as Christopher and his son strive and everything that hit them they would not give and everything they went through they would not give up they slept in the train to the toilet of a subway they did everything they had to do to live, get money and find success.…

From Conquerors to revolution leaders, our world holds a vast number of prized people. But from all the people that have walked this Earth, there are only a very few which we can call great. The magic of hard work and perseverance cannot be underestimated. We see in general that people who have succeeded in life have done an immense amount of hard work and their success is we all see, but the effort put in, we fail to measure. We do wonder how he could achieve so much, but it is absolutely certain that achievement has come his way after much of continued effort. Most of us do make efforts but, soon lose heart and leave our projects and this is why we fail to reach the pinnacle of success. It must be clear in our minds that, we never can achieve with just a simple raising of a finger, we have got to put our heart and soul in a particular job and that also with continued vigour in every attempt then only we can hope for any success. Those of us who leave effort midway are obviously left midway by success also, and then we are disheartened and broke, just to ogle jealously at those who have succeeded. If we have the confidence in our effort, there is nothing that can deter us from…
