I finished Bachelor of Secondary Education from Batangas State University. My major is English. A year after graduation, I decided to enroll in the masters program of that same university. I was able to complete 36 units of Master of Arts in Education, Major in English Language Teaching. That was in 2005. Then, I stopped studying. I never thought I’d ever have this opportunity to be back to school again. But this time, I am seriously aiming for graduation.
My first teaching experience was at a private Montessori school. I wasn’t very happy at first because I taught Grade 2 and Grade 4 levels. I preferred teaching high school students. I grabbed the job and made a decision to like it. I didn’t have any choice though. I was successful. I learned to love and enjoy teaching little kids although my training didn’t concern much about them.
After a year, I decided to apply at the same university where I graduated. I was in! Those were colorful pages of my career as a teacher. I became known as Ma’am Cors, the cool English teacher. I handled first year and second year students. Most of them are now studying in different colleges and universities. A few are already professionals. My seven years in Batangas State University made me the teacher that I am now.
For some reasons, I had to leave Batangas State University. I have been teaching in Trat, Thailand for three years. I teach Grade 12 students. It is a very challenging yet interesting job. Their English skills might be mediocre but it doesn’t mean that the fun of teaching would be second-rate as well. I enjoy teaching them. I like
