Seminole Industries: Case Study
For this project, Seminole Industries endeavored to find the most ideal plane that can be made with the lowest cost but with the highest profit and as top-quality as it can be. To determine the ideal plane, we created ten planes per design (a total of three designs) and tested each plane ten times so that we can get precise and accurate results. We tested each plane by measuring how far each plane went, how long it took to create each plane, and how much estimated profit each plane gains us. Our team consists of three workers in an assembly line, with the first person folding four times, second person three times, and last person three times. This workplace design enables workers to make planes comfortably and efficiently. The ideal price
of the plane is 58 cents, which is based off of the overall estimated demand for our product and the overall costs coming from the work space and the number of people working. Our airplane design has around a 100% success rate on flying greater than twenty feet or farther in our throws. This plane is not only decent looking, but it also revolutionizes the paper airplane industry because only a low percentage of planes have been known to fly twenty feet or farther. With this plane, we not only get a maximum net profit per plane, but also get a plane of quality 99.6%!
