9/2/2016 I'm really looking forward for this weekend. Tonight I have volleyball practice and we get out early today. After practice I'm going to go home and get ready to go to the Senior football game. Most of my friends are going to the game so it should be a lot of fun. After the game I'm going to spend the night at Maddie's house, were probably not going to get any sleep. Saturday I'm going to my dad’s house and watch one of my favorite tv shows Teen Wolf. Sunday I'm most likely going to sleep half the day. Monday, is Labor Day so I don’t have to go to school "yay" and I might go to the…
Senioritis is real I guess or my hate for school or something because every morning I get up and wish I didn't have to go. It's my senior year i'm just ready to get out of this place I don't care what happens I got this bad view on things. When they tell me I need to do something I think to myself who cares It won't be long and I can work and make money. I would love to be working right now and not replying on this I just don't understand most of the stuff they have us do in school about 85% I would say in the line of work i'm going in i'll never use it but I may be wrong so I try to just keep to myself and push through.…
Sitting in the locker room today, packing up my bags for the last time, it made me realize that my softball career is actually over. I just wanted to thank everyone who has had an impact on my softball career first starting with my parents, brothers, and other family members. Second my coaches throughout this whole journey. And third to all my teammates that I have had over the years. Those friendships are what got me through the tough times and great times. I am honored to be able to say I was a softball player at West Stanly for 4 years. For the ones who are still playing, give it your all, turn teammates into your friends, and always cherish each and every chance you get to play on that field. It's crazy how much time flies so just make…
Senioritis: a common illness that is said to strike high schools across the nation and stand as an excuse for plummeting grades from the senior class. It is believed that seniors become incredibly antsy their last year of high school and are looking into the future for a solution to their bored life. Seniors also begin to question whether the classes they are taking are meaningful or not, while sloughing off the tension that comes with high school because they have been there four years and know the ropes. Not all seniors are sucked into this mindset, and many continue to further their academic success throughout their senior year. “Senioritis” brings up all of these points, but does not effectively support the points made.…
One thing people have always told me is that I remind them of the person Randall Cobb from the book game changers. He has one of the most creative and unique personalities. He is passionate for the game of basketball by working hard on his time. Randall is also talented in the subjects math and science by pushing himself to make good grades. He also thrives to help people even if it's with school work, personal problems, or on the basketball court. All in all he was almost exact the same person as I am he likes basketball, he helps others, and he does well in school.…
Down in the locker room, one of my favorite coaches looked at my team and stated, “I’m sorry. I will not be returning next year to be your coach.” I sat there almost in tears, because at that moment my love for basketball almost left with him. Billy Martin was a favorite coach of mine. He loved each of us like one of his own, and treated all of us the same. He wanted each of us to succeed and would do anything to help us reach that. Coach Martin instilled in me no matter how talented a person was, you could always beat them by working hard. I could not believe he would not be my head coach next year, but he did soften the blow by saying he would still be around until we were use to our new head coach. We were all very upset about his department…
Salutatorian Speech Good evening class of 2017! Administration, teachers, family and friends, thank you for being here to celebrate special occasion. Before I start, I would like to take a moment to thank Ms. Kavanaugh for allowing me to speak. This is really amazing. I would like to thank my teachers and friends.…
Throughout the past four years as a player on the Northview soccer team, I have had you as my coach, which you already knew. Though it probably was not in your control at all, I want to thank you for being there with me this whole time. I have often felt a sense of discomfort among the other people on the team, and a sense of fear that things would not improve, but it was nice to always know that, if all else failed, you’d be at every practice, making fun of me and trying to trip me.…
* To my coaches: You are like my second set of parents. I have learned so much from you and 50 years down the road, I know I will still be able to count on you. Although we had a few disagreements and I got yelled at a few times, I look up to you and respect you for teaching me more than just about the game… for teaching me about life’s lessons and knowing which battles to fight and which battles to leave alone.…
Hello, I am so honored to speak in front of all the parents, staff and my fellow students today. Wow guys we made it! These past 3 years have been full of so many memories that I know we’ll never forget. Think all the way back to 6th grade we were always the littlest ones and I remember feeling like a fish out of water. We were terrified of getting lost or being late for class, but excited to have a locker to decorate and change classes each period. It doesn’t seem like that was over 2 years ago at all. We came back in 7th grade, much more confident than the year before. We looked down to the new 6th graders, asking "Were we really that short just last year?" And by the end of 7th grade I was shocked that I was officially an 8th grader. 8th grade is defiantly my favorite year. I feel like I have everything under control. But next year is full of changes. We'll have free periods, more homework, electives, and an open campus. The new choices also bring new responsibilities that test us in figuring out how we grow from kids to adults. As we say goodbye on the last day we sit together as Balboa students, we reflect on what has happened the past 3 years, but also look forward to what is coming up in the next 4 years. My advice to future 8th graders is to keep up with your school work and try your absolute best and make lots of good, loyal friends that don’t get you in the bad kind of crowd. And most importantly, have fun! This is the last year you will be the oldest in the school for another 4 years, so enjoy it! I’d like to finish this speech off with this quote : A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.-Ayn Rand…
Without are mistakes of the past we can't learn the lessons that will guide our future. Some of us…
president, I’ll make sure that we come out looking so awesome, that the upperclassmen won’t be able to find anything to make fun of us for.…
It seems like just the other day when we were all talking about our senior's farewell as they move on. I remember thinking that it would be hard to say goodbye ... and I was right – it is hard. Yet I consider myself fortunate to have met such a special person ... a person that we care so much about ... that it makes saying goodbye to them hard! As we say goodbye, we remind ourselves that farewells are not forever, nor are they the end. They are simply words to say that we will miss you dearly and that we will remember you fondly. I still remember the day when I first met my seniors and to tell the truth I was really terrified by those sweet funny things which they made me and my class fellows do. But later we all realized that it was just to increase our confidence level and to decrease the communication gap among us. And I hope that this is quite an example to demonstrate their well wishes for us. Although we may be separated by time and distance in the interim, nothing will diminish the important role that you have and always will play in our lives. We wish you happy adventures, fantastic new friendships, amazing experiences and the journey of a lifetime.…
So fasten up your shoe laces and buckle up your belts for the journey ahead , because the best part of your life is waiting for you .…
(1)Education is an irreplaceable gift that makes us happy peaceful , fearless and doubtless , but most importantly it makes us better human beings . Education itself removes the darkness away from our lives and suddenly we see how beautiful the world is . Education doesn't consist of school and pointless years of work we will never need , but of the experience in our lives because experience is often our best teacher . Gaining knowledge and getting good grades does not make one educated . An educated person consist of learning how to live , how to hope , and how to behave around others .This is why school should be available once we know what we want to do in life . Once we reach the correct age to make a decision , then we can start our education in the field that we truly desire . (2) In the movie “The Giver “, the education system was organized ,systematic and career oriented . In that movie by the age of 12 the children had to choose what they wanted to do later on in the future .For our society I believe the appropriate age should be 16-18 . At this age we are able to make our own choices and to see what we want to get out of life . Children that are 5-15 should attend to school to learn the basics of life and be prepared to make a choice . This way our education will be more effective and will be taking more seriously . This will also help people be more successful in life and teachers would be highly respected . By having an education system like this it will allow students to focus on one career and not have to deal with taking 8 classes and trying to study and learn all at once . Later on if the student decided that if he/she wants to change or study another career it will be available for them. Teachers will also benefit from this by not having to plan much or have a lot of time taken away from their personal lives . The education system that is being given now has many flaws that aren't useful for our education for example all the wait of time like…
