Serena Williams: A Brief Biography
Serena Jameka Williams was born September 26, 1981 in Saginaw Michigan. She was the youngest of five daughters. Her parents Richard and Oracene Williams have two daughters, Serena and her sister Venus, which became two of tennis great champions. Their father Richard was determined to see his two daughters succeed in tennis. He moved his family out to Compton, California where he trained his daughter. He used tennis records and videotapes to train them on how to play the game. At the age of three Serena was having daily two-hour practices with her father. In 1991, Serena ranked first in the 10 and under division and was 46-3 on the junior United States Tennis Association tour. Around that time Richard Williams thought it was time to move, therefore
