Seven Habits Analysis
For this task I will do a personal evaluation of my personal leadership style, the contingency model of leadership, and an overview of my scoring on the Seven Habits profile (Daft, 2014). The Seven Habits Profile was an interesting quiz to seek out one’s strengths and weaknesses. The profile had nine categories with twenty-seven questions in total scored from 1-Very Poor, 2-Poor, 3-Fair, 4-Good, 5-Very Good, and 6-Outstanding.
My scores for the profile are the following, the first section was Emotional Bank Account which I scored a 14, which was in the Very Good category. I feel I take people’s feelings very seriously and try to treat them with the utmost respect. Also, I try as much as humanly possible to keep promises and commitment

I like getting things done and find it hard to let go. I found that working in quality assurance is helping with working on this due to the fact instead of trying to fix it myself; I must send it back to others to fix their own mistakes. Second weakness is being too task orientated, I tend to want to do one thing at a time when sometimes multitasking may need to be involved. Like when I go on a field visit and need to speak to my patients’ family and my

nurse at the same time to gather information. Third weakness is being flexible in thinking. I had to learn as a nurse to let go of preconceived notions about people. I am still learning to let go with the flow and be flexible because as a nurse you must think outside the box.

To become a better leader by seeing a problem and looking for a solution for it. I would make a checklist for the paperwork needed to send to a doctor or insurance company as a fail safe to reduce the amount of papers missing from patient files. I would get my case managers to use the checklist for a couple of weeks, then get together to get how the process is working and get feedback to see if any changes need to be made to make the process run more smoothly. By the first month end have a meeting with the case

Your character is basically the sum of your habits. Therefore, to become successful, you need to develop good habits in your life. This book teaches you how to acquire the seven habits of truly effective people. The foundation of your success and character should be based on common moral values such as integrity, honesty, humility, courage, patience, justice, the Golden Rule, etc. This is known as the “Character Ethic”. In the long term, it is easier to be motivated by such principles of integrity and goodness. Your character should not be based on a false public image, hypocritical attitudes and behaviors, or superficial techniques for human interaction/manipulation. That would be known as the “Personality Ethic”. If your principles were based solely on the “Personality Ethic”, you may achieve short-term success, but people will eventually see through your dishonest motives and cease to trust you. You will not enjoy long-term success and happiness. Habits 1 to 7 develop your character in a progressive manner. Learning the first 3 habits will help you achieve “private victory”, where you learn to move from dependence to independence by taking responsibility for your own life. Habits 4 through 6 teach you how to get “public victory, by moving from independence to interdependence and succeeding through creating synergy with other people. Habit 7 involves the renewal and balance of your mind, body and spirit.…
