| LabRepQuiz010 Question MC #7: Which of the following is the best written sentence that includes the information below taken from an article written by Dr. Costanza, but avoids plagiarism?…
1. The dependent variable is the rate of the growth of the plant and then the independent variable would be the time of day that she waters the plant.…
A. Create a solubility curve for NH4Cl by plotting g NH4Cl/100 mL H20 on the y-axis, and crystallization temperature on the x-axis. Make sure to label each axis. On the same graph as the solubility curve for NH4Cl, add the solubility curve for NaCl using the data provided in Data Table 3.…
So my guess was correct again. The blue water did slowly enter the red water.…
We placed the zinc inside the beaker and slowly poured the hydrochloric acid into the beaker. As soon as the acid entered the beaker, there was a sizzling sound and bubbles started to form as we add more of the substance in. When the bubbles were forming, we could see a steam of gas coming out of the beaker. After 10 minutes, we noticed bits of zinc were floating on top of the hydrochloric acid and lining the beaker. I lifted the beaker and felt the bottom and it felt warm, which meant the reaction was still happening. After 20 minutes, we added water into the zinc and hydrochloric acid to stop the reaction and we observed a slight cloudy colour (still clear) forming as we slowly pour the water in the beaker.…
Coal mining, particularly surface mining, leads to large areas of land being temporarily disturbed. The mine workings collect and conduct water that is in contact with the widespread pyrite, a mineral that produces iron and sulfuric acid when exposed to air and water. In this lab, you will see first-hand the reasons why mine drainage can be harmful to the local drainage system if left untreated.…
What substance is not present in tube S2 for the production of the brown-colored substance?…
A. Click on the TV/VCR and listen to the short overview about enzyme action. Close the window when done.…
Hypothesis: If certain species are missing from the ecosystem except humans (blue), then all other species will feel the effects.…
The purpose of Experiment 36 is to identify the anions present in an unknown solution based on the chemical reactions with various chlorides. In this experiment, Pb2+ was present in the unknown solution, while the presence Hg22+ is in doubt, and Ag+ is absent. To begin, the first part of the experiment involved analyzing the results from the experiment with the solution with equal volumes of AgNO3, Pb(NO3)2, and Hg2(NO3)2. Based on the results and observations obtained from the tests with the stock solution, the presence of the anions in the unknown solution was able to be determined. When HCl was added to the unknown solution and centrifuged, a white precipitate formed.…
In 2012, Americans alone produced over 250 million tons of garbage. One large component of this waste consisted of oil based plastic bags, which are utilized excessively by grocers, restaurants, and stores nationwide. In order to reduce this source of waste, many countries are banning plastic bags or taxing customers for their use. Utilizing at least two scholarly sources, discuss at least two environmental problems caused by such extensive plastic bag use? If you were in charge what plan might you propose to reduce or eliminate their use? Discuss the economic impacts of implementing your plan versus the financial impacts of making no change in our current use.…
1. Develop hypotheses predicting the effect of pyrite and coal on the acidity of water?…
Two ways that Scientist may study and find the interior of the Earth are with Meteorites and Magnetic Fields. The scientist may use meteorites to discover the interior of the Earth's earlier solar system by studying the meteorites that arrived on the Earth. The scientist might use magnetic fields by the science advances which involves measuring the ocean and coming up with a hypothesis. Therefore, the meteorites and the magnetic fields all help scientist discover the interior of the Earth.…
