One of the police officer told victim’s family that, “didn’t she know what she was going for, we do not deal with prostitutes.” This is part of the problem with rape culture. Victims are blamed for being victimized. It was because of what she was wearing, she was at the wrong place at wrong time, why was she alone, why did she go out with a stranger, why this why that. We blame the victim, not the perpetrator. When the girls are caught in the sex-trafficking ring, they are deported. They are re-victimized. They are treated as illegal immigrants with no rights protecting them. They are not provided any witness protection due to that very few victims testify.
