Sexism And Discrimination Against Women

The ad developed by the UN Women’s Memac Ogilvy and Mather Dubai, was to promote and illustrate the world perception on sexism and discrimination against women. They used google searches to reveal and expose the negative aspects from stereotype of women race to the denial of women rights in the world. They wanted to change the climate of the talk and developed ways to change the negatively of the idea that women are silent and use Google to show that women are truly strong and shows progress to achieve gender equality. Google as we know is a worldwide company and they chose to use that platform to spread the message, hoping to wake up people and fight against discrimination for all women. This ad draw my attention because how the
message was delivered. The image is of four different types of women from different races and background speaking out against stereotype and sexism. As a young women I try to help those around me to understand women fought for rights, rights that was not given to us because in society women were portray as housewives that only did domestic work. Since the Women Movement, figure such as Michelle Obama has showed that women can hold powerful positions and have a positive effect on young women today. Their intention was to focus on breaking down the barriers of inequality. To continue the urgent in making the case the women deserve better treatment and empowerment. The UN Women ad, not only organize millions of women to react in the name of women who cannot defense themselves but to also create a globally dialoged that effectively portray women that are strong and not silent to the abuse that they suffer. Their agenda for global campaign is to hit every part of the world to rethink the state of gender and discrimination toward women.
