    1. Net Present Value method is one of the methods used in capital budgeting. The NPV is based on the discontinued cash flow. A company that has a proposal for a new project or an investment uses the NPV method to decide if they should accept it or move on with a different investment. This method provides valuable information to the management about the cash outflows related to the investment and cash inflows from the investment with the consideration of the time value of money. The time value of money has been considered in this method because the money invested today will have a different value in the future.…

The calculation of the straight line method of depreciation is by taking the cost of the item minus its salvage value then dividing that figure by the expected year’s life cycle of the item. This is a non complex calculation and it reduces net income and the equal amounts of depreciation are deducted from every life cycle year of the item.…

    A. Filing Status: There are two choices of filing status available to this taxpayer couple, married filing separately and married filing jointly. For this taxpayer couple the recommended filing status is married filing jointly. The tax rates would be higher if they filed separately. Additionally, some deductions (e.g. tuition and student loan interest), credits (e.g. Earned Income Credit) and exclusions would not be allowed if they filed separately. Since they sold a personal residence during this tax year, they will be able to exclude up to $500,000 profit from the sales as joint filers rather than only up to $250,000 if filing separately. There will be 2 qualified personal exemptions and 3 exemptions for the 3 dependent children. All the children qualify as dependents because they are all under age 19 and the parents provide over half or all of their support . Spouse B’s mother cannot be claimed as a dependent because she provided for over half of her own support with contributions of $7,920 while her family calculates their contributions for her support to be $7,000.…

There are a few areas of concern when looking over Competition Bike’s budget for the upcoming year (Year 9). This budget estimates that 3,510 units will be sold. CB has just experienced a 15 % decline in sales, due to the economic situation. In year 8, CB sold 3,400 units. This flexible budget is allowing 110 more units be added into the mix. Although sales trends have remained consistent, despite the decline in sales from professional riders, it might be wise to not aim as high to make sure the recovery actually does occur. The sales forecast predicts that CB will recover over the next 3 years. CB estimates over $100,000 more in cash and cash equivalents for year 9. This is, of course due to the increase in unit sales that is worked into the budget. It might be a better idea to underestimate rather than overestimate when it comes to cash on hand.…

The incentives and opportunities of trading with Korea are substantial. Korean businesses have a tendency in the course of direct contacts to be more complete. Something as simple as Face to face contact or shaking hands with the customers during the negotiation processes is a type of marketing strategy that our selected company uses instead of contracting through email or telephone communications. Contacting potential customers in the Asian market by email or telephone won’t help a company to increase the market share in an Asian market.…

An elderly patient, such as Mr.Trosack in the study case, faces and deals with more challenges than any other patient of any other age group does. The elderly patients do not face only physical and physiological problems, but also a large number of social, emotional and psychological issues as well. Being ill to any younger adult is seen as just another barrier on their road where all that is needed is to get better and get back to the previous condition, whereas for an elderly patient being ill is seen as degenerating , being defeated, have the independence taken away...facing the end. In the scenario given in the case study, Mr. Trosack is clearly exhibiting denial of the situation by refusing any care or option offered to him. He is not safe by himself, does not have any significant assistance to count on and is very prone to further damages and injuries during the status post-surgery and post hospitalization. One main issue related to his health needing to be addressed during the discharge planning will be the high risk for future injuries-patient is not safe. Another second issue will be regard to the new diagnosis Non-insulin dependent type II Diabetes and Hypertension, which carry a major potential ability to affect the other body systems, since very well-known they are critical conditions that eagerly but surely become chronic. A third healthcare concern is the family support and motivation to participate in the recovery and rehabilitation process. Safety is a primary issue that has to be met no matter what in any situation at any time. It is one of the 5 classifications of the human needs per Maslow 's hierarchy, to function properly and to thrive at the highest potential and needs to be achieved .It is a patient 's right. A non-safe patient is a sure promise for failure, injuries, noncompliance, complications, life threatening conditions and even death. A new…

Nursing sensitive indicators reflect the structure, process and outcomes of nursing care. The structure of nursing care is indicated by the supply of nursing staff, the skill level of the nursing staff, and the education/certification of nursing staff. Process indicators measure aspects of nursing care such as assessment, intervention, and RN job satisfaction. Patient outcomes that are determined to be nursing sensitive are those that improve if there is a greater quantity or quality of nursing care. ("Nursing world," 2013) Having knowledge of these indicators hard-wired and put into practice in daily care of patients, could have assisted the nurses involved in this particular case in many ways. Knowing the risk of pressure ulcer development with the use of restraints could have helped the nurse prevent one in this patient. The bedside care providers, the nurse, as well as, the CNA would have recognized the reddened area as the first stage in pressure ulcer development. They would have been more meticulous with skin assessments and repositioning with the use of restraints in this elderly patient. Also, if the CNA had a better understanding of when to appropriately use restraints and how to manage a restrained patient she wouldn’t have positioned the patient on his back after he returned to bed. Another nursing sensitive indicator is patient and family satisfaction which was not taken into account in this situation. The nurse so easily dismissed the daughter’s concerns about the dietary mix up and blew off her concerns regarding what her father was served. Nursing sensitive quality indicators are an important part of the equation when it comes to establishing evidence-based practice guidelines. But measuring these indicators is not simply good science – it’s an ethical imperative.…

Developing positive relationships is important within most situations in life, a good way of ensuring these positive relationships progress is to ensure you have effective communication. When working with children if you complicate things it can lead to the child becoming confused as to what is expected of them. Make sure the language that you use is age appropriate to avoid confusion. You may be able to see if the child has understood your request by either checking that your instructions have been carried out or simply by asking the child "do you understand?" and asking them to relay back what you have asked. Communication is a two way thing and to have a positive relationship with somebody you will also need to listen to them. Having eye contact and sitting down with a child will reassure them that you are listening and will reassure them that they can come to you with their needs. When dealing with young people again you will need to make your communication age appropriate but you may need to alter your techniques slightly. Secondary school age and above is when a lot of young people feel they are going through some of their hardest times. They will have strong changes in their hormones which can lead to mood swings and irritability, transition to secondary school or home life problems. A big grievance of young people is that they wish to be treated as adults, so even though they are not of adult age to form a good relationship you may need to approach situations cautiously and take into account things that a young person may be going through. Adults can sometimes forget the importance of communicating with each other which can lead to a number of problems. When working you need o ensure all of your colleges are certain of things going on or instructions being given, this can help to keep communication problems to a minimum. It is vital that other adults have understood what you have said and interpreted it in the correct way to…

There are 4 major acts created that are known as the Antitrust Laws. In the 1870’s and 1880’s, the Sherman Act of 1890 was created. This act made monopolies and conspiracies that tried controlling trade a criminal offense. This act exists with 2 provisions, the 1st is that every contract, blending in the form of a trust or otherwise, or attempt to conspiracy, in limit of trade or market among several States, or with distant nations is acknowledged to be unlawful.”…
