Shadowing My Mom Research Paper
For this project I have decided to shadow my mom, Melissa Hamlett. I chose her because she is someone that I admire and look up to. Also because I had never really gotten to know what she does while she is at work. I knew that shadowing her would be a fun and interesting experience. “I watch every step you take, and every decision you make.”
My mom works as a customer service representative for Mohawk Finishing Products. The company that she works for sells products that repairs wood to make it look nicer. She does not actually sell the products herself, but she does work with the customers on a lot of things. The main thing she does at her job is assisting customers and coworkers in fulfilling orders for touchup and repair products. Her job

I choose to write my leader profile paper on my high school basketball coach and teacher at Sacred Heart in Ville Platte, Mrs. Stephanie Fontenot. I believe that besides my family she has been the most significant leader throughout my life. At my past high school she was my basketball coach, art teacher, financial math teacher, Rodeo Team/Club Sponsor, and lastly a great mother to two of my best friends. She never seemed to let the stress of being in charge of so many things get to her head. She always exemplified true examples of leadership, and always wanted to show her students and players how they too can be great leaders. She was a great role model to everyone that knew her. As a teacher, mother, and coach, Mrs. Stephanie would be sure to show leader qualities but what makes her so special is the ways that she shows them. She has always come across as a very humble person. She is strong in her Catholic faith and has always taught her students that throughout life we should always keep God first. Growing up in a small Catholic town and school, I have been through many different experiences, good and bad, when it came to being a strong leader while still keeping faith. I believe that her strong faith, while making great judgments for her students and players makes her an exceptional leader and one that I and the rest of our basketball team have grown to admire throughout the years.…

This summer I had the privilege of job shadowing a great lawyer and family friend, Nancy Bonilla. I have nearly always wanted to be a lawyer, and in all honesty I was a little concerned that after watching a real court hearing, and seeing all the work that lawyers actually have to put into each and every case, I would no longer wish to become a lawyer. However my fears were removed entirely as soon as I walked into her downtown Fort Worth office; the day I had arranged to job shadow Mrs. Bonilla, she had a court hearing in Denton, so immediately upon my arrival I was exposed to the last minute stress of getting the clients case in order. I was able to help Mrs. Bonilla with getting her paper work…

I selected to job shadow my mom actually because I couldn't find anyone to shadow in the career that I wanted, so my only other choice was to do my mom. I wasn't really too interested in doing that job at first, but that's what I needed to do. I spent my day watching and helping my mom checking out stock systems and how it works. I was also able to use the office equipment. I wore nice black pants with a nice sweater. We left the building for lunch, and went somewhere else to eat, like my mom does a lot of the time. During the interview, I asked her the questions, and she answered, explaining as she went along, and I was not able to catch it all. So I learned a whole lot about the job by doing the interview. I left at about 2:00 to 3:00 (I am not too sure exactly when) because my mom had some important work she needed to do, that I really couldn't help with. My favorite experience that day was actually finding out how stocks work, saving money, and information like that.…

On our day-to-day busy lifestyle, we usually do not take the time to look around and see the people that surround us. From the young playful children, to the elderly who sits mesmerizing their surroundings. I am very fortunate that I got the opportunity to go out my comfort zone and do this assignment. Ms. Rose Lee is 66 years old and I learned about her through her daughter a great friend that I met last fall semester. I was very happy when my friend agreed to help me and allow me to talk to her mother for my interview. I did my interview over the phone because Ms. Rose does not live in Savannah. Ms. Rose is divorced and lives in South Carolina; she identifies herself as African American descent.…
