In Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”, the witches influence on how Macbeth made his decisions, it can be seen that encounter with the witches have guided Macbeth on his destructive path. Macbeth states, “I am in blood steeped so far that I should wade no more” in other words, going forward would be as difficult, as tedious, as going back. Rather than stop committing crimes, Macbeth says that he might as well continue to commit them. The feel of having power overcomes Macbeth and when he comes to realization of the sins he committed, it is too late to turn back. Lady Macbeth is always on the side of Macbeth telling him what she thinks he should do. He is also influenced by not only his wife, but by witches planting ideas into Macbeth’s head, to murder for personal gain. However, the way Macbeth’s lust for power urges him on into a path of destruction has nothing to do with anyone else but himself.
Lady Macbeth was a major and very important part of the play Macbeth. She is the one that controls Macbeth and tells him what to do next. When Macbeth was off at war, and told lady Macbeth that the witches greeted him as Thane of Cawdor, and King of Scotland before he received those titles, she was scheming on how to fulfill the titles before he returned home. Duncan names Malcolm to be next in line for king position. This infuriates Macbeth and once Lady Macbeth hears word of this, she plots a murder on King Duncan. Macbeth does not fully want to commit this act of betrayal towards his king and Lady Macbeth sees Macbeth’s wavering and ridicules his masculinity in order to make him commit murder. Act 1 scene 7 “how tender ‘tis to love the babe that milks me: I would, while it was smiling in my face, have pluck’d my nipple from his boneless gums and dash’d the brains out, had I so sworn as you have done to this” this quote from lady Macbeths states that, she would rather kill her own baby then go back on a promise.
The witches also contribute to Macbeth’s destructive path, while

Lady Macbeth is an ambitious and ruthless woman who desires power and status. She appears stronger and more callous than Macbeth as she manipulates him to assassinate Duncan. However, as the bloodshed continues, her guilty conscience becomes more affected than Macbeth’s. Unlike Macbeth, who grows insensitive to the murders that he has committed, she descends into madness and (apparently) commits suicide as she becomes less capable to withstand the horrors of her crime.…

She had single handedly changed Macbeth’s mind when he had decided he was going to let fate take its course and solely let everything play out however it was going to. He was not entirely desperate to become king and was content with being the Thane of Glamis and the Thane of Cawdor, therefore he was not exactly intent on murdering the king to claim the throne for his own. Though, almost too easily, Lady Macbeth had convinced him that to become king, he had to murder the king and frame someone else-- it was their only course of action. Of course, she was more power hungry than the once humble Macbeth had been, so she had done the framing and most of the schmoozing. In fact, the only thing that even stopped her from murdering the king in the first place was that he looked similar to her father while he had…

In conclusion Lady Macbeth is mentally unstable. She longs for power and to become queen. But in the end she cannot handle pressure of murder and guilt on her shoulders. This is why she killed herself. The irony of it is if she didn’t guilt Macbeth into killing Duncan for not taking his chance and being a coward, she wouldn’t have felt guilty about anything at all. Because Duncan would still be alive and none of this would have ever happened. And maybe Lady Macbeth would end up sane in the end if it wasn’t for what she had…

He states that “Macbeth is not the sole author of violence and mayhem in the world,” which tells the audience that Lady Macbeth did indeed play a largely pivotal role in the execution of those at Macbeth’s bloody hands (Cohen). Although committing such violent acts has been seen as a man’s job in the past, women are now taking the lead and simply bringing their husbands along for the ride. Lady Macbeth plays a pivotal role in Macbeth’s violent madness, as it is she who convinces him to act on his greedy intentions and kill for what he wants most. This is ironic however, as while Lady Macbeth is the one who has absolutely no qualms towards killing Duncan, and pushes Macbeth to complete the deed, it is she who kills herself in the end in overwhelming guilt. In this instance, the female counterpart of this duo was more integral in the execution of each of Macbeth’s victims, meaning that murder is no longer a game for men alone, but is also not a game that men are necessarily better at playing.…

As a result, her desire for power allows her to be stronger, more remorseless, and more driven than Macbeth. In fact, she is fully aware of this when she declares that Macbeth is "art not without ambition, but without the illness should attend it.” This is why Lady Macbeth acts not only as Macbeth's confidant, but his also his controller. Consumed by her desire to become Queen, Lady Macbeth herself plots the murder of Duncan and when Macbeth questions the idea of regicide, she manipulates him with her powerful soliloquies. This is done by condemning her husband’s biggest insecurity; his manhood. She states that Macbeth would be “so much more the man” if he were to follow through with the plan. Lady Macbeth even points out that she herself would even kill her own baby as a means to reach her goals. This drives Macbeth to the point where he is “settled and bend-up” to prove himself. Her condescending inspiration is the first to trigger a change in his morals and attitude. However, as Macbeth’s own ambition starts to flourish and facilitate an obsessive and power hungry killing spree, Lady Macbeth’s character changes as well. She becomes helpless and is reduced to a weak figure that sleepwalks and is constantly trying to wash nonexistent blood from her hands. This is because she is so overwhelmed by the guilt of her treachery that a…

From the beginning Lady Macbeth is viewed as very controlling, strong, and certain. “First, she has very little regard for her husband's humanity and actually derides him for being "too full o'th' milk of human kindness” (Thompson 1). This shows how cold Lady Macbeth is, as milk is the food of new born children, she is implying Macbeth is too much like a kind child to murder anyone. Once Macbeth has the courage to tell her he does not want to continue with the murder she rallies, calling him a ‘coward’, saying that if he could murder Duncan ‘he were a man’. This to Macbeth, a proud and mighty warrior is a deep insult, and he soon is convinced that he will carry out the murder.…
