A Back in c. 480 A.D it was documented by a very well respected legend from the home of China that a wandering Buddhist teacher from India by the name of Batou ended up in China and he was the founder of the Shaolin Monk dance.

3 The soul of Shaolin Kung Fu is rooted in the wisdom of Chan Buddhism. The underlying basis of the belief system of Shaolin Kung Fu is "Chan ding (Dhyana)". The prestigious Indian monk Bodhidharma introduced Chan tradition to Shaolin Temple in the 6th century and from that time the temple has been regarded as the origin of Chan Buddhism in China.
B Since the beginning of the sixth century, Chinese Buddhists living in the Shaolin monastery have been inextricably linked with physical perfection and martial arts. That’s why, Shaolin monk is considered as one of the most skilled and talented warriors this world has ever had the privilege of beholding.
1 In order to become or even master being a Monk you MUST be very determined and willing, also disciplined and well trained.
2 A regular day of a Shaolin monk begins at 5:00 am. After waking up, all the monks meet together in the courtyard of the main temple and for 2 hours they meditate, It does not matter the day or weather conditions or age only the oldest(wisest) monks are permitted to meditate indoors
