Shatter Me, by Tahereh Mafi, is very similar and reminds me very much of another book titled Delirium. They are both very interesting dystopian novels that revolve around the government and science fiction. In Delirium, the government is controlling the people and they believe that “The Cure” is a way to save society, and in Shatter Me, the government believes the Reestablishment is a way to save humanity. Both books are also trilogies, and the first thrilling installment in their 3 - book series. In Delirium, The Cure is seen as a way to help the world. The Cure is required for people over 18 - and it’s a brain surgery where people are cured from loving others. In Delirium, love is seen as a disease, and they believe that the cure could save people from all problems. In Shatter Me, the Reestablishment was a plan to save and change the world. The plan is to destroy everything so that they can start from scratch, and create a new, nice society. However, both plans really do not work in the main character’s
