Shining House Theme

Theme is a lesson which can be learned from a story and sometimes two different stories can share the same theme. Story “Shining houses” and movie “Up” also share one of the theme, theme of how conflicts between young and old generations can evolve and how destructive it can be. In both works one of the character would face misunderstanding from modern society. In “Shining houses” the young generation wanted to build new community, visually perfect community, however they were so focused on physical beauty that they didn’t care about inner beauty. In movie “Up” main character also faced this problem, he refused to move from his old house despite the reconstruction of his neighborhood, he cherished the memories that had been made in that building.
