Shipbird, A Crowdsourcing Delivery
Service, Offers A Greener Option for
Businesses
Shipbird, a delivery service that allows users to employ ?on your way? technology, offers a cleaner, more environmentally-friendly option for businesses to distribute packages throughout the Bay Area.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 19, 2014 /PressReleasePing/ – Shipbird, a delivery service that allows users to employ ‘on your way’ technology, offers a cleaner, more environmentallyfriendly option for businesses to distribute packages throughout the Bay Area.
With a focus on helping daily commuters earn extra money while driving, biking, or taking public transportation along their normal daily route, Shipbird makes it easier than ever to send and receive packages in a cost-effective way.
Shipbird works by colleting user data from potential couriers who sign up at https://shipbird.com/. Shipbird then uses that data to identify the couriers who will be contacted when a delivery order comes in. Only couriers who live, work, or commute along the route of the delivery are notified of the job, making extra travel to and from delivery route obsolete. “Because we collect data that users enter into our system, we know where they begin their commute, and where they’re going,” says Marc Diamond, CEO of Shipbird. “Once delivery orders come in, we’re able to target our users who are in already in that specific area, eliminating the need for a special trip.”
Since launching in May, hundreds of small businesses around the Bay Area have benefitted from Shipbird’s same-day delivery service. Shipbird’s delivery fees are much lower than traditional delivery services, and Shipbird allows senders the flexibility of setting delivery request either days in advance, or immediately. In addition, Shipbird couriers work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are available whenever senders need them.
More than 1,300 drivers have signed up to work with Shipbird, and
