Jean is observing the ladies while listening to their conversation. They load up their groceries and leave. Jean is now feeling uncomfortable and when she is paying, she feels that everyone is looking at her impatiently. She is sorting out her payment, which according to the story, is taking some time and leaves the store. When she gets out, the uncomfortable feeling is gone and everything is all right.
