Short Biography: Erin Teague
Erin Teague was born in 1982 in Detroit, Michigan. Her family lived in a neighborhood in Southfield, which is a suburb of Detroit, that had families that had money and those that were poor. She went to a public school in Southfield where many of the kids received either free lunches or discounted lunches. She excelled in her schooling and took as many honors and AP classes that were available to her. Even after taking these advanced classes she felt under prepared entering college. Growing up outside of Detroit, where engineering is big because of the automotive industry, she decided that’s what she wanted to do when she grew up.

She left twitter, before it went public, after a couple of years and joined another social media company called Path for the same position of product engineer. At Path she was in charge of helping grow the user base and is credited for the company’s growth. She left Path and went to work for a startup Quora. Quora is another social media and took the job title of product engineer. A year later she left to take a job at yahoo as Director of Product Management. She is currently in charge of a team that is tasked with enhancing the user experience for services such as Flickr and Tumblr. Her personal project, that she focuses on the most, is enhancing the user experience of one of yahoo’s most used apps which is Yahoo fantasy football. She is an avid sports fan and her father was a professional foot ball player so this project fits her well. This was very interesting to learn since I use that app a lot. While learning about her it seemed as though she would go work for a new company very frequently, but she said that she applies to new jobs every year to keep everything fresh and to see what else is out
