One of the most memorable moments I have experienced was four years ago, when I traveled from Matamoros, Tamaulipas to San Antonio, Texas. I had the opportunity of visiting San Antonio for the first time, and more importantly, of spending time with my family who I had not seen in years prior to the trip. Spending time with my family is of great value and importance to me, so I became utterly excited to see them as soon as I had the chance.…

Maybe having hero in the title is a bit of a stretch and an exaggeration. Have you ever indulged in a book that has your attention every minute of every page you read? I am sure the answer is yes. I think most people have related to this feeling at some point. Dave Dravecky, a book written in 1993, is the book that stole my mind from page one. A book that was so fascinating to me, I used it for my book report in school at least three times. As I reflect back on that, perhaps writing a book report on the same book in three different grades is a bit excessive…or just pathetic. After I finished reading this book the first time (I read it at least two times), I am almost certain that this is all I talked about. My family could attest to this. “Gee whiz Britton, stop with the Dave Dravecky talk”, I can hear them say. School friends so tired of hearing me rave about this book. “You have got to read this book”, I would say. Actually, come to think of it, most everybody around me could quote the book without ever reading it, thanks to my nonstop blabbing about every detail.…

The most memorable event in my life was when we moved out from Russia to a country that changes lives and is known as a dream land called the United States of America. When we sat on the airplane that was going toward the United States in August of 2004, we knew our lives are going to be changed in the way we always wanted them to. After twelve years of not going to school and being discriminated by Russian citizens, this moving to a new country was the most amazing, not just in my life generally, but for my entire family as well.…

Before we were going to go inside I noticed all these other restaurants I’ve never even heard of like an Inn & Out and Jack in The Box Johnny Rocket. They all looked amazing my mouth was getting watery I wanted to go try them all. As we walked inside the restaurant you could hear the bells and the water fountains, they had full of koi fish it was amazing. Then after we finished eating we went to the mall it was astonishing it had four floors way more than Sioux City’s mall. There were so many stores that I’ve always wanted to shop at. After we were done the shopping we were heading to the beach I have never been to the beach before. It was so nice seeing the waves and seagulls fly around as I was standing I could feel the sand in my toes standing there with my feet in the cold water. It felt so relaxing it made me want to visit more places than…

Last year my family decided to take an extravagant vacation for Thanksgiving break. We decided that the destination was to be Cancun, Mexico. This would be my first vacation out of the country and I could hardly wait. My whole family was invited and it was going to be a great eight days and seven nights, of straight fun in the sun. A nice and enjoyable get away was much needed for everyone and this time of the year is everything I look forward to. It was going to be cold in Missouri but in Mexico the forecast looked marvelous. We get to do a vacation around November or December once a year with our whole family and it is the absolute best memories. Something about this vacation made it more cherishable to me. This vacation was a little different for me because of the memories I made and the people I met, who are now lifelong friends.…
