Short Essays on Chores, What Makes Me Happy? and, My Favorite Book
Chores
Working moms are getting more common in the modern society. They have to work hard and do a lot of chores at home at the same time. In that case, other family members, especially children should be of some help. By helping parents with the chores, they will learn about house upkeep and grow a sense of responsibility and belonging to the family.

Firstly, too much work will make moms stressful and exhausted. They have to raise the kids, keep the house tidy and nice; they also have to work in the society to make ends meet. Excessive work would cause both physical and mental problem, which in turn will affect the family. If children help moms do proper chores, all the family members’ lives will be improved.

Secondly, Chores are a teaching tool for preparing a child to someday care for himself. Once they become adults, they are bound to live by their own and run their own family. Parents should teach them how to live independently and make sure to model for their children that they also have responsibilities.

Lastly, doing chores will make children feel more responsible. People don’t love a place where they get things, but they would love somewhere they made sacrifice and efforts before. When children finish the chores, they feel as if they were productive and important to the family and they did something that grownups usually do. That makes them feel responsible to the family.

To conclude, children doing chores at home will reduce parents’ burden, prepare them for their future life, and grow a sense of responsibility. Children who do chores will understand their parents, family and life better.

My Favorite Book
Books are a classic way to gain knowledge and experience different lives. I enjoy reading for fun. My favorite book is Harry Potter, written by J.K Rowling. I pick it as my favorite book for its vivid characters, colorful adventures and well-hidden hints that foreshadowing the story.

The books of Harry Potter have the most complex characters and a wide variety of different personalities. For instance, Hagrid in the story as the goalkeeper of Hogwarts, is helpful and warm-hearted. But on the other hand, he is careless and makes mistakes sometimes. Also, even the evil people can get scared by the wakening of their conscious conscience.

Another important reason is that the story is full of thrilling adventures. The dragon ride, the search underwater, wizards’ world cup… all those journey make the books more appealing. Of course, they were all created by the amazing imagination of the author. They are exactly the attractions for children who are bored with schoolwork and dull text books.

Last but not least, is the magnificent writing skill of the author that led the books to huge success. Rowling left lots of hints about the characters ending in the end, even from the very first book. Sometimes certain details baffle readers at first, but when they continue reading; all the riddles will be solved one by one, leaving the readers in awe for the brilliance of the author.

Harry Potter is an amazing work. Not to mention the character description, imaginative adventures and story arrangement. I wish there will be more works like it and overwhelm my mind.

Parents shouldn’t give their kid the answer, but they can help them by correcting them when they’re wrong and explaining what they should do to solve the problem. Another way parents can help without giving the answer away is by quizzing them on a vocabulary or math test that’s coming up. Responsibility, most parents don’t realize how much they take for granted by giving their children some responsibilities. I agree that children need to have a few responsibilities, but some receive far too many. Children who are being raised by two parents may only receive a few responsibilities that they are required to do each day after school, but nothing compared to the children that are being raised in a single parent household. These children may have to either get supper started or make their own because the parent may have to work late. Plus, if there are younger siblings involved, naturally the oldest child would be responsible for looking after them. Now, what if…

In my view forcing children in order to help with household task has some positive and negative points but I tend to believe that the positive points are weigh to the negative ones. That is to say that children should have time to play and do their homework if they have any, hence forcing them to help with household tasks may get their times that they need to play or do their homework. Also, children may feel bad when they see thier friends are not forced to do anything in their home other than doing their homework. Conversely, there are lots of positive features in doing so. To be more precise, children can learn to be responsible by forcing children to do a few household task. Fore instance, we can assign some easy job such as putting the garbage in front of the door or cleaning the table after lunch and dinner. These tasks do not get their times that much as well as learn them to be responsible for doing something in a regular bases. Likewise, it makes them to feel that they are part of a family and should care about everything regarding each other. If parents ask children to vacuum their room themselves, children fathom how cleaning a room is difficult and time consuming, therefore they would not make their room so dirty and strive to be cleaner at least. Moreover, by asking them to wash the dishes sometimes, children strive not to make lots of dishes dirty. When parents ask children to do some household tasks, they make children to be more self-disciplined and program for their tasks in order to do their homework and their duty at home to be able to finish them all and play games or play sports with their friends too. Children also learn to use their times in a best plausible way and not wasting their times in order to be able to do all their jobs and responsibilities. In conclusion, I strongly agree that asking children in order to help with household tasks is an appropriate policy which makes children to become more responsible, self-disciplined and…
