SUBJECT: Progress Report on Emergency Preparedness Plan
Purpose of Report
The following is the progress report on the new Emergency Preparedness Plan. The purpose of the plan is to improve the current Hurricane Emergency Plan and make sure the company’s emergency response procedures are effective. Creating a new plan will prevent the damage incurred by the 2009 Hurricane in any new emergency situations. Improving the emergency response procedures will ensure all employee and customer safety in an efficient manner. I believe these new plans and procedures are essential to our company safety and asset protection.
Having an effective emergency plan is critical to protect our company, all employees, and customers in the face of a natural disaster. My goal is to ensure no liabilities or losses are resulted from a Hurricane natural disaster. I plan to do this by reevaluating the current plan, research working plan aspects and natural disaster procedures, develop a new working Hurricane Emergency Plan, develop improved emergency procedures, distribute the plan to employees, and hold employee training sessions for the new and improved procedures.
Work Accomplished
1. Plan and Report. So far I have drafted the initial cover page and introduction to the report. For the plan, I have developed a list of needs for the company. I have developed a chain of command and a few precautionary steps, such as putting the National Weather Service application and alerts on the company iPad to ensure up to date weather knowledge.
2. Basic Research. So far I have researched the areas in which our current emergency plan needs improvement, communication and timing. In order to avoid possible disasters caused by Hurricanes, a communication process must be established. According to my research so far, employees must be in communication with managers and each
