DOUG
I’m not leaving until you take it.
Holding the money out in front of Sandy.
SANDY
Fine.
Sandy accepts the money from Doug.
SANDY (CONT’D)
Thank you.
She puts the money into her pocket.
DOUG
You’re welcome.
Doug starts to get antsy, worried about missing his flight. He grabs the passport out of his pants pocket and walks down the hallway. But he glances back at Sandy. He talks to her while walking backwards.
DOUG (CONT’D)
I’ll call you later so we can talk more about Morris and what you need help with.
Sandy nods her head. She wipes the black mascara lines from her face. She smiles, realizing she does have support.
INT. MORRIS’S PRIVATE BEDROOM - NIGHT
Later. Sandy sits next to Morris’s bed, scanning through a real estate magazine. Morris has his eyes shut. Dr.

DR. VOIX
Get her, I need to speak with her right now.
Olivia quickly walks towards the door.
INT. HALLWAY - DAY
Dr. Voix re-adjusts his glasses. He stands in the hallway next to Sandy and Dr. Yish. His arms are folded across his chest.
DR. VOIX
After examining your husband’s throat based on my observations, it is too swollen to access the damage. It is worse than I suspected.
SANDY
Would he be able to talk again?
Dr. Voix shakes his head. Sandy covers her mouth, trying to fight back the tears. Dr. Voix points to his throat showing her what part is broken. Sandy shakes her head, not believing what she hears.
INT. MORRIS’S PRIVATE BEDROOM - NIGHT
Morris is in a deep sleep. He wakes up, gasping for air. His medical monitor starts beeping. Morris is profusely sweating. He starts wheezing. His eyes bulge out.
INT. HALLWAY - NIGHT
Olivia slowly walks down the hallway, reading a patient’s medical report. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. Her pager goes off.
Pager reads: Room 244
Olivia runs down the hallway.
INT. MORRIS’S PRIVATE BEDROOM - NIGHT
Olivia hastily runs to the beeping respirator. She reads the reports, completely in shock. She looks up at Morris with eyes of worry.
