The safety catch was on so he didn’t manage to shoot anyone. Back in 1928, the element of science behind ballistics was unknown territory for a jury. However the evidence presented by Churchill was outstanding, this resulted in the hanging of Browne and his colleague. The work of Robert Churchill brought the idea of ballistics into forensic science; it helped prove what gun had been used in the crime carried out. However, finding the gun that was involved could take years or the police may never even find it and at this time there was no proof of who had actually used the weapon. This was a downside of ballistics that caused problems for police and forensic scientists. Nowadays criminals know not to leave bullets at a crime scene and many don’t, as they know that without the bullet or the cartridge the gun used would never be found. Ballistics experts are now using a new piece of technology, in the programme …….. Gabriel Weston (the presenter) met up with crime scene analyst mark DeGiovanni; he has recreated the scene of a murder. It’s the case of US police officer deputy sheriff José Diaz, who was shot and…

Dubose, Tensing who was an officer at the University of Cincinnati shot Mr. Dubose after a traffic stop for an alleged missing license plate turned south. Harvard Law Review asserts, “After DuBose was unable to produce his driver’s license, Tensing directed him to remove his seatbelt and tried to open DuBose’s driver’s side car door. “I didn’t even do nothing,” DuBose protested, as he held his door closed and turned the key to his car’s ignition. Yelling for DuBose to stop, Tensing reached for him with one hand and his service weapon with the other. He then fired one shot — killing DuBose instantly. Although Tensing claimed that he discharged his weapon only after being dragged by DuBose’s vehicle, his body camera footage plainly contradicted his account” (Harvard Law Review 1168).…
