I chose this story because through it I learned how nice it is to have someone who would sacrifice their pride possession to make you happy, I chose it because it is important to know the true meaning of Christmas and this story tells it perfectly, I chose it because through it I learned that love is the one the wisest gift that some one could ever give you. I choose to designed my cover this way because I believe that in this way the reader will like to know what the book is going to be about, basically I believe that the designed of my cover would call the attention of someone who is looking a new book to read, because is colorful, is shining, it have realy pretty drawing.
My book cover helps the reader to understand the book because my cover have a good designed, it have an elegant design and no one is going to feel ashamed if is carrying it around in public, because is pretty, and is not over fancy. You can you read the words, they are big enough, the design convey the message in an interesting way. It colors are directly connected with the story because they are the colors of Christmas; red is for the love and green symbolizes the virtue of hope.
In my book cover I decided to draw Della because she is the character most important in “The Gift of the Magi” and because her hair is one of the most important symbols in the story, and like Jim’s watch is. In my book cover I draw three gifts, two of them are open and the other one is close. One of the opened one have the pair of combs that Jim gave Della, the other one that is open have the chain that Della gave Jim; I draw both of then because they symbolize the sacrificed that they when through to get a gift for each other. The one that is close is the mysterious gift of love that the reader will find as they read the story.
