To sign up, you could go online or by mailing the National mail voter registration, or just a local department where you live. A lot of critics argue because they believe teenagers won't be involved in elections and they won't be able to cast a quality vote.
Some history about the U.S, in 1971 american citizens needed to be 21 in order to vote in the election. The argument about voting 21 to 18 began around the time of the World War II, and then people argued if men could vote at the age of 21, they can be drafted to war at the age of 18. Now many countries let 17 year olds vote, but other countries still want people to vote at the age of 20 or 21. The United States is not the only country saying that they won´t let 16/17 year olds vote, most of the world also have a law saying you have to be 18 to cast a vote.
