Should A High School Diploma Be Required To Obtain A Driver's License?
Should a high school diploma be required to obtain a driver's license? Being required to have a high school diploma will burden parents, keep teens from working, and delay young adults from becoming responsible. Teens not being able to drive will be a substantial burden on parents. With the constant flow of after school activities, such as, sports, music, clubs, and work, there needs to be more than two drivers in the household. Parents often are at work when the extra activities are taking place and cannot afford to take time from their job. When teens are able to drive it alleviates this burden by allowing them to drive themselves. High school students can also help their parents out by chauffeuring their siblings. Adults would no longer

Parents play a big part in teens learning how to drive, parents can be a good role model to show a teen how to drive. In the article, “Distraction and Teen Crashes: Even Worse Than We Thought” produced by AAA discusses how much of a role distracted driving actually plays in teen crashes. For example it says, “AAA recommends that parents teach teens about the dangers of cell phone use and restrict passengers during the learning-to-drive process”(5). The author explains that parents need to play a definite role in teens learning to drive. By parents implementing the idea of not using cell phones while driving and not having people in the car, the teen is more likely to make a better decision when that situation happens. Another example would be, in the article, “Training --…

In several states, legislators have been debating on whether or not it should be required for students to keep a “C” grade average before receiving a driver’s license. Some people are skeptic on this decision and believe that it is unfair for a teenage to maintain a “C” average to receive a driver’s license. I personally disagree with this statement and think it would improve the well-being of most teenagers. There are several reasons why having the incentive of being allowed to legally drive is a good thing. Students will become more responsible, they will get a good insurance policy, and it will make teenagers more grateful for the things we often take for granted.…

On this personal issue i do not agree with changing the minimum driving age. Many teens look forward to getting to drive. It wouldn't be the right thing to do. No i don't think the minimum driving age should be changed. If are legislature changed the minimum driving age we would have to have a lot more transportation for schools. Students wouldn't be aloud to drive to school. If are legislature changed the driving age they would be taking away the only freedom they have. It would also be hard for parents to get there kids from after school activity's. Some parents need there kids to be able to run places for them lick picking up siblings. They also may need them to go to the store to pick things up for them. They…

How many less driver’s world there be in this world if everyone needed a high school diploma to have a driver’s license? From my point of view, high school does not teach you anything that requires driving skills other than making sure you have the ability to read, so that you are able to understand the signs that you pass. Driving does not require book smarts. In my opinion, being able to drive, you need to be aware, patient, and have a positive attitude.…

Imagine if you were in high school and you weren't the brightest student, which resulted in bad grades, and then there was a policy made where you couldn't even get your driver’s license until your grades got up and stayed up. This is a policy that is being debated on by some legislators who think it’s a good policy and some who don’t think it’s such a good policy. I would be siding with the legislators who don’t think it’s a good policy. It’s not a good policy because I feel like it’s not really the legislators place. Also, students would be getting good grades for the wrong reasons. Lastly, someone’s academic in school doesn’t have anything to do with the ability to drive. Legislators trying to make a policy, that teenagers should be required to maintain a "C" average in school before receiving a driver's license is a bad idea.…

I think teenage driving should not be raised and remained the same. Driving can be complicated for people that haven’t experienced it at all, especially, the ones that are nervous and seen the downsides of driving on drivers education. Getting the teens to drive vehicles can overcome their fear and help them learn more outside. Not only that, but it also have them get used to land vehicles they are already familiar with the roads, the signs, etc. Early driving comes with three good benefits such as: actual driving experience, increases responsibility, and stabilizes memory and awareness.…

People fail to realize that in life their is trials and errors that needs to be run in order to find what works. Removing teens from the roads will just add more stress in the household and not teach teen a thing about adulthood. Also it will not allow teen to be able to participate in after school activity that gets them involved and a chance to have a part-time job that provides them with life skills to be successful.
