There is a current conflict over the topic of abortion and if the government should be involved with it. The two sides to this argument are pro-life and pro-choice. The individuals who are pro-life believe that you should not be able to abort a child from the very beginning of the pregnancy. They also believe that it is unfair to kill a child when there are couples out there who are waiting to adopt because they cannot conceive due to health reasons. The individuals who are pro-choice believe that you should be able to decide on your own if you want an abortion, and it should not be limited by religious or governmental authorities (“Background of the Issue” 1).
