Should College Students Hire Cleaners？
It is rather controversial among university students whether they should hire cleaners or not. Although hiring cleaners can to some extent help students save time for study, I am firmly convinced that students should not hire cleaners, because by cleaning the dormitory on their own, they can develop friendship and obtain independence.
Cleaning their own dormitory can make the roommates more familiar with each other. It offers an opportunity to students to talk and work with each other. Their relationship gets closer when they discuss how to distribute the washing, cleaning, sweeping reasonably and when the dormitory becomes cleaner and more comfortable because of their cooperation. In the end, their friendship is strengthened. What’s more, students become more independent when they clean their own dormitory. In high school, most students only focus on study and rely on their parents to do the other things. Cleaning their own dormitory means students begin to deal with one part of their own life. Besides, as they must find some time to do this job, gradually they have a better idea of time management and how to keep a balance between study and life.
To conclude, although we may get some benefits from hiring cleaners, the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages. It prevents students from getting friends and becoming independent, so I think we’d better not hire cleaners.
