21. So back when the drinking age was 18, America still had fewer accidents involving alcohol consumption than some countries where the drinking age was 21.
If at the age of 18 you are allowed to go out and decide whether someone is guilty or not on a jury and possibly change someone else's life for either the rest of their life or for just a couple of years than i think you should be able to decide whether or not you want to consume alcohol.
Another statistic shows that allowing 18 to 20 year olds to drink alcohol in regulated environments with supervision decreases the amount of unsafe and illegal activities that underage people participate in.
Having the drinking age at 21 prohibits this age group from drinking in bars, restaurants, and other licensed locations causing them to drink in unsupervised places such as house parties, and bonfires where they may be more prone to binge drinking, pregaming and other unsafe activities.
Lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18 would beneficial to the economy. More people would legally be able to drink in bars, restaurants, and other licensed establishments. Revenue would increase for private business owners, and greater amounts of tax revenue would be collected. According to statistics if the drinking age was lowered to 18 in America than smaller businesses and smaller communities would grow. It appears that another benefit to a lower drinking age is an advantage to small business owners because of the increase in client
base.

Also lowering the drinking age is giving 18-20year olds a safe place to learn how to drink. Lastly, having the drinking age lowered helps the smaller business owners and communities.
